I'm not pregnany right now, but when I was ... I had to go in once every month near the middle...and once every week near the very end. I use to get so excited about knowing I was going to hear his little heart beating.haha

i have an old remedy for diabetes...it might sound weird but it works, when i was pregnant with my first i was borderline diabetic and with my second i did this and the doctor was shocked how i didnt have it or not even close.
there is a dryed bean you can buy in the grocery store called lupini beans. you might find it in the international aisle or even in a bulk store. all you do is swallow one hole everyday like a pill, thats it. somehow it absorbs the sugar in your body. its an arab remedy and i was willing to try anything so i took someone's advise.
my inlaws who are all diabetic started using it too and it drastically reduced their blood sugar level. its an odd remedy, not everyone is willing to try it, but i thought i would share.

I'm on insulin right now, cause my blood sugar goes crazy, and it's horribly disappointing.

p.s. Do you take it at meal time? in between meals?

doesnt matter when you take it. you can start with one or two a day. i personally took it twice simply because i took it with my maternity pills

For dinner yesterday I went to a BBQ and had spicy chicken.....not a good idea. Baby was kicking me ALL night long. Didn't get to sleep until 5AM a little bit tired this morning

Well, I am 6 weeks pregnant and due on April 13, 2009. I haven't told my family yet but I've been bursting to share the news with someone!!

This will be our second and last child (unless there's an accident lol). We have a 17 month old son named Logan. It's going to be so nice to see how he interacts with a little brother or sister. In one way, I'm hoping for a girl, because I think it would be nice to have one of each. On the other hand, it'd be nice for Logan to have a little brother.

I think the toughest thing for me when I was pregnant with Logan was low blood pressure around 6 months until the end. For me, that meant that the slightest bit of exertion would cause me to feel sick and like I was going to faint. I had to sit down frequently just while doing dishes! Going to a big store like Wal-Mart was out of the question if I wasn't in a wheelchair. I think I would have been put on bed rest if I hadn't been so careful with it. I really hope I don't have to deal with that again!!

So far, I haven't had any morning sickness and I hope it stays that way! I was already dealing with it at this stage with my son. The only symptom I have is VERY tender breasts (good excuse for hubby to massage )...never experienced that until much later on with Logan. It's funny how each pregnancy is so unique.

I too find every pregnancy to be so different. Just when you think you know whats happening, something changes and throws you for a loop. Hopefully your blood pressure is better this time around

Thank you If you don't mind me asking, where in Ontario are you? I live in Sturgeon Falls, which is about 20 minutes from North Bay. I grew up around Huntsville, moved to Barrie, then Ottawa, and now we've been here for almost 2 years. I think we're probably going to stick around this area for a while...maybe move to North Bay eventually.

I breastfed my 1st for 3 months my 2nd for 2 yrs and my 3rd had no interest. This time...we will see what happens

Oh, and another thing. are any of you being told by the hospital that they WILL NOT supply you with those super big absorbent pads for all the bleeding that happens.

6 years ago, they supplied me with this mesh undie and a few of the huge "pads". This time they are saying that I have to shell out $20 for a package they are saying is mandatory. It has pampers (I didn't like pampers with my last kid) some weird brand of menstrual pads that I do not use, and 2 of those huge pads for after delivery.

I thought those huge pads would be part of your after care, and not something you should be forced to purchase. I'm a little miffed that they are trying to tell me I have to buy their selection of pads and diapers because it's "mandatory"

Anyhow, I have decided that I am not buying their mandatory package, and I am going to the hospital with my own supplies that I prefer to use.

Anyone have suggestions on what to use for the first day or so of bleeding, when it's heaviest?

What? That is ridiculous! I would be miffed if they told me that too!! I gave birth March of last year, and they supplied me with the huge pads. In fact, they even encouraged me to take a bunch home with me!

They don't sell stuff like that to Canada but this gives you an idea of what you are looking for.

They sell maternity pads that are similar to the one's in the hospitals, and they ship within Canada.

Also, if you google "maternity pads" and click "canadian results", it comes up with a bunch of lists of different stores etc. that you can look at. If you don't want to use maternity pads....you could try the heaviest sanitary pad (Always sells 14+ overnight pads that absorb a lot)....but I don't know if it would be enough without having to change it very frequently.
