Hi I'm new here and hope this is where to post I am wondering if anyone has a best price on items like bathroom tissue(per roll) box tissue (per box) paper towels (per roll) laundry soap per load and gel tabs for the dishwasher. I am looking to stretch my money as much as I can so any help would be great. Thanks

It depends on where you live. If you are in the western provinces, most of us don't pay for dishwasher tabs as we stack and get the quantum finish for free from LD. For facial tissue, I pay approx .25 per box (based on the last stock of royale tissue 6 pk i purchased) For toilet tissue, most of us don't pay more than about .20 per roll for a double roll. Just depends where you live. You know what the best prices are on things in the stores near you, so minus the coupons you can find, and that will be your best price.

We only buy double rolls, so 25-27c/roll for a double roll is what we usually pay.

the best toilet paper deal I got was for cottonelle tp...on sale for $3.44 - $3 printable coupons = $1.44 + tax for 16 double rolls.
Just try to match the best sale for the week with the best coupon you have on hand to get a good (better than retail price) deal. Once you get familiar with the sale prices vs. regular prices and the different sales cycles, you will be able to hold out for a good deal.
In the east (Ontario) we can't stack...not sure where you are located.
SC deals and also brags sections are great to find the best deals as SC'ers generously post the savings for everyone. It's how I found the Cottonelle deal too.
Good luck!

Hmmm, I find your unit prices interesting. I took it to the sq metre to determine what was a good price. I found that one brands double roll was not the same as another brands.
All the packaging has the sq meters printed on it so I found that the easiest way to compare prices.

The cheapest I ever found them without coupons is 3.99 for 24 rolls (store brand) at No Frills. Haven't been there a while but hope the price is still the same. With coupons the cheapest I ever payed is 3.99-1$ coupon = 2.99 for the Royal (24 rolls) at Shoppers. I calculate by single roll meaning if it's a 12 pack double roll I count it as 24 rolls. At 3.99 for No Frills they add up to 0.1878... a roll. At Shoppers they came up to 0.1461... a roll. I only got that particular sale at shoppers once when I started couponing and only had a few coupons. Still waiting for it to come back. So for me, anything less then 18 cents a roll is ok. At that time I will buy a few depending on how long I can wait for a better sale. Next time a sale like Shoppers come along I will be stocking up. Hope this helps.

i would do it more precisely, like dollar per sheet, because a roll can be 200sheets or 100sheets.
Here is how I do the math:
charmin ultrasoft, ($9.67-$1) / 24 Rolls x 200 Sheets = $0.0018 per SheetLast edited by jiepie; Mon, Nov 7th, 2011 at 09:07 PM.

I figure rolls is easiest cause I don't have to go to town and write down how many sheets are in every kind of paper. Same for the Square meter way of calculating. I just might make up a spreadsheet on the number of sheets ans Sq. meter as I buy them. Sooner or late I should have most of them on file. For now I'll stick with the per roll methode. Mind you I am not critisizing anyone elses way of calculating. They are all great but my way is the simplest "for me". I do see how the other 2 ways are more accurate.
