Gardening noob here, what does the cayenne pepper do?

Well you can take them off the bush when they are just blushing and ripen them indoors. We have a lot of raccoons here but they like the neighbour's garbage better We have raised beds that are waist-high too...we put bamboo skewers with the pointy tips up and that keeps the squirrels out because they don't like to dig around all the obstacles, and the last cat that jumped up in there got quite a surprise and exited in a spectacular somersault lol

I swear by Dollarama bamboo skewers! We also add a bag of cayenne pepper to the soil when it is on $.99 for store brand.

Ooooooo I'm marking this one down for next year, for sure! I heard about eggshells to deter the icky creepy crawly critters, but big critters need deterring too.. Thank you!

Helps deter all the critters...squirrels don't like it so pile it on! It does nothing to the plants, it's just more soil to them.
