It occurred to me a few days ago that this month, it has been 20 years since Freddie Mercury passed away (November 24, 1991). I wanted to start a thread to remember Freddie, and all the wonderful music he and Queen have shared with us. If you have your own personal favorites, or if you were lucky enough to see Queen in concert, please share.
I will start off the thread with the song that started my love for Queen, and more specifically, Freddie Mercury, Radio GaGa. I still remember where I was when I heard he passed....

You paid your dues to this world
Becoming a champion of songs
Reliving the old songs and music
And embracing the new sounds
You wanted it all and you had it
Adventures in life were yours
And you lived as you wanted to
Your life was your own not others
"Gay as a daffodil" you called yourself
Being free in your path in life
And never compromising your choice
You voice was truly a kind of magic
That will be remembered for years
You may not have lived forever
But your words will outlive us all
You broke free of all limitations
Yet in the end grew ill
But as we all know
The show must go on.http://www.amazon.com/gp/cdp/member-...stRecentReview

His music was so amazing - I feel sad thinking he was cut down in his prime. Imagine the music we could have had if he had lived....

Timeless classics, that is how I would classify the music of Queen. The music is as relevant today as it was when it was first released.
Here is another video of another one of my Queen favorites - Living On My Own.

Another classic - I Want To Break Free. I loved the playfulness Freddie had in his songs and videos, and this one certainly delivered.

One of my greatest regrets in life is never having been able to see Queen live, I guess I would have just turned 5 when he died though. #sadface

I remember when I first saw "I'm going slighly mad" video and thinking Fredddie was going to die soon.
I had the chance to see Queen but the people I would have been going with really wanted to see the support band* and planned on leaving after half an hour of Queen. They went and left early..
* the support was a band called U2, not sure what happened to them....
Short answer : no Long answer : NOOOOOOOOOOO!

I have never seen that video before Darth Penguin. So today's Freddie Mercury/Queen video will be that song " I Going Slightly Mad".

I was only 12 when he passed away and I remember my mom telling me about him because it was all over the news. And thats how I started getting more into their music. I was just too curious for a 12 year old to find out about this man that every woman was loving
including my own mother
.... Never was at their concert obviously and neither was my mom but I can only imagine they knew how to put a show...
