Dog thefts

I found out recently that there have been a rash of dog thefts in my area. They are being stolen for re-sale and for dog fighting. Apparently yards are scoped out and if they like your dogs(s), they will mark your fence and then come back when they know no one is home. They use the small dogs as bait dogs and the big one for fighting. And having 3 little ones and a mastiff, I am nervous. These are sick individuals that need to be left alone in a dark alley with the pup parents of all the fur-babies they have stolen.

Totally disgusting individuals, we don't have that problem here and I hope we never do.

Did you microchip your dogs? Do your dogs go outside off leash?

It's sickening when that happens, it has happened in our city as well - this past spring there were some. However, it was unfortunately spread by social media to make it out that there were many - and it turned out not to be more than usual.

Here, the chalk mark thing was investigated as a hoax, just a social media thing spread - when some kids found out about it, they were just doing them on fences and garages to freak people out.

My dogs are chipped and never let off leash. The only time I leave my dogs alone are locked in my house when I do errands.
It's scary here.

good thing your dogs are micro chipped Wolfie, but I can still see why you'd be nervous. Hope if they pass by your place they DON'T like what they see.

Oh my gosh!!! I wish we did not live in a world like this..those are our children. That burns me to no end. Thank you for sharing this disturbing information. We are better off knowing what is going on but..my gosh. I thought I read here in the region and nearby Quebec area that a woman or some people were claiming unwanted pets on social media to re-sell them. God only know what those poor angels have gone through. Shame on those monsters.

Oh, Wolfwoman, that is awful! I was upset last night when I saw on TV last night that Michael Vick - convicted dog torturer and organizer was being "Welcomed" by his NFL team mates - as are the women-beaters too! Sickens me!
