hi
as some of you know my dog was sprayed by a skunk the other day. I just wanted to share with you a concoction I found on the internet that worked really well if anyone ever needs it.
1 litre of hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda
2 tbsp dish soap
mix above in a bowl, get dog wet with water, apply mixture and lather it up, leave it on for about 5 minutes and then rinse off with clean water.
I was amazed at how well this workedThis thread is currently associated with: N/A

Tomato juice is more of a mask I think.
On mythbusters they tried everything and the best thing that worked for them was the recipe you posted.
It was a really interesting show to watch that day since theres various remedies.
Im glad Zoodle is more of an indoor doggy, skunks are nasty! My father in law's dog was once sprayed and he stunk for weeks.

Great info to know.
I just sold a shed 2 weeks ago and the people that bought it took it apart as well and we found that a skunk had been living underneath it and when they lifted the floor off the ground, the skunk came out, lol. I was just measuring the shed for them like 2 days beforehand so the skunk probably wanted to bite my feet and i had no idea he was there!!!! Yikes! Lol.<center>

Yep yep!! I use this all the time but I only use 1 tbsp of dish soap. You have to mix and use right away you can not store this stuff. So I usually have all the ingredients here when I need them. We have lots of skunks.
This is the ONLY thing that gets ALL the smell off for good, no residual smell. You may have ot wash them twice to make sure you get eveyrwhere but it works and is simply amazing.

Luckily my doggie has not been sprayed by a skunk yet, but I am printing out the recipe in case it ever happens.
Many thanks.
