Cleaned up the budget today since payday is Friday and I don't really plan on anymore spending this week.
Dispursed my tax refund. Credit on my 2 credit cards (for future spending/fun) DS's 2016/2017 hockey fees. Topped up TFSA and the rest into my RRSP. Good bye tax refund.
We have sports every night this week so will be eating simple (and leftovers). So no more spending

We achieved out #1 goal for 2016. DH bought a 2016 VW wagon on the weekend. We paid cash for it, what an awesome feeling. Now to top up his TFSA. I do mine direct off my pay cheque so its easy.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

Congratulations on the new car! Enjoy that new car smell!
I'm holding off on any grocery buying until Friday because the money just goes and goes everytime I see something depleted or close to being empty. The only stockpile I have right now is that the extra deodorant I bought two months ago is now in use and I have soap (dish soap for May and into early June, bath soap for two months plus the liquid soap refill which I hope lasts into early July). After doing my Saturday baking, I kept thinking how boring banana muffins are or loaf is to make (always seem to have bananas on the verge of overripening but I am not buying most of them) and how I'd like to repeat the March experience of having two or three dried fruits on hand to change my baking plus have chocolate chips when brain cries for chocolate (serious siren call at times). Want frozen berries to make coffee cake too.
I'm usually eating cooked pasta for two of my meals and will try using coconut oil for a change tonight to see how it tastes with herbs and chili flakes. If the taste is not right, I'll use the coconut oil in baking instead. There are a few jars sitting in the pantry and I'd like the space freed up for cooking staples in June (it's year of the pulse and why not stockpile those lentils and beans?).Last edited by Ciel; Tue, May 10th, 2016 at 12:03 PM.

Showed bf our budget spreadsheet the other night and he seemed surprised at numbers. Then told me all the other times on the last 4 yes I've shown him he hasn't actually looked!
