Hi all,
my friend was over last night and she has a Food Dehydrator, now she is wondering what she can use the drye'd food for does anyone know any places with recipys on using the dry food? mostly it's fruits and veggies she does.
let's say she has dry beans how does she cook them?
what can she do with dry tomatoes,
you know stuff like that?
thanks in advance! This thread is currently associated with: N/A

One thing you can do with a dehydrator is to dehydrate pieces of veggies, like carrots, etc, to use in soup mixes, like those nicely jarred ones to give away to friends.

I just ordered a dehydrator from Costco looked all over for a cheap but good dehydrator, Homehardware had one but it was the 500 watt one and I wanted one with more watts, so I got the one from costco it has 700 Watt.
http://www.costco.ca/Browse/Product....=1&topnav=&s=1
then from the model number I went to the Nesco side to find out a little more about the unit
http://www.nesco.com/products/?categ...cat=100&id=333
and on that side they also have a cookbook
http://www.nesco.com/files/pdf/dehyd...k__digest_.pdf
I hope I can dry my apples soon, I just love dry apples
and hopefully I made the right choice in this one.. will let you know when I try it out, but first it has to get here

dried pineapple is really good too, a friend of mine had a dehydrator.
the infomercial for the ronco one used to be my favourite (it is so corny, but hypnotizing)
