So, what is the ready made bacon like? Texture, taste.
(btw, will be able to get Burns bacon here next week at Co-op on sale 3/$10)

I used to buy the costco 'ready made' bacon but then the price went WAY up. This brand is a good alternative, especially being free! I cook it a little extra longer than the package recommends because I like it crispy. So far I have used it in salad (yummy) and in bacon cheese biscuits (yummy) and wrapped on asparagus and boiled (yummy). The texture is a little soft for my liking when you follow the directions (might be my microwave). I find the taste to have a good, bacon flavor.

Even though the package recommends microwaving, we prefer to put them in a frying pan for a very short time. They crisp up quickly. They're ideal if you're making bacon and eggs. Fry the eggs and, when they're almost done, add the bacon to the same pan. Super easy and super quick!

First bad experience with the coupons. My Freshco price matches, but they always have these exceptions, limit of 2, so I buy different kinds to get around it. This time I bought 3 maple leaf bacon, 2 reg and 1 reduced salt, I pm'd no frills for $2.97, then I gave her the coupons, she gets on the phone, "can we price match plus use coupons", No, you can only do One or the other..what!! If I bought these at Nofrills I would get the sale price plus be able to use the coupon...blah,blah,blah. I asked to speak to the manager, she says we can't do both because we'll be losing money!! What!! You get the money back from Maple leaf!! She goes to speak to the boss, I don't think there was anyone there, she comes back and says I will do it this time!! Plus I got the free prime chicken!! I will probably write to Freshco and find out about their policy..I'm tried with all the changes, either you price match or you don't!!

Having the Ready Crisp and regular bacon is the best of both worlds! I've been using the Ready Crisp during the week as it's a time saver and the regular bacon on the weekend, when time is not so much of the essence. Think I might miss the Ready Crisp when I am out--not going to pay $6 a box.
