They usually tell you to contact the manufacturer as it is under warranty
Sometimes they will exchange it, if they are feeling generous, but rarely will they refund it - this stops people buying on 20x days or early for redemption then returning it to buy again on redemption or hoping they keep points

If it's unopen you should be able to return it, but I think it would be a hassle dealing with them though.
PS. Don't take my word for it I have never return any electronic item but knowing their attitude toward return it would more difficult with electronic items.Last edited by Decaf; Sat, Nov 26th, 2011 at 08:35 PM.

When we bought our GPS, we asked every store we went to if we can return if defective. One store said we could get a refund and was written on receipt. Turns out the GPS was defective, would not hold a charge after continuously recharging. Returned it and got money put on GC.

Last year, I redeemed for the TV they had on sale. When I got home and plugged the TV in, it would not hold an image and colourful 'streaks' ran along the screen. I called the manufacturer to inquire if there was anything that I could do to adjust the settings, but they said that this was not something that could be fixed and that the TV itself was in fact defective. When I brought it back to Shoppers I told the manager that I had called me manufacturer and relayed what they said. I received a refund placed back onto a GC with no issues.

I bought a camera and decided I wanted a different one within a few days (DH didn't like the one I picked) so I returned it with no problems at all. It helps if the people know you I've found. 1 store I go to is awesome, the employees are always super friendly.
