A routine forest fire, the wind shifts, and suddenly terrified inhabitants are fleeing through apocalyptic walls of flame, pillars of smoke and flying cinders. What will it take to recover? What are your thoughts?

It is raining here today: pouring actually and im looking out the window and thinking that Fort Mac could sure use this kind of weather. My thoughts go out to all the people who have been forced to leave their homes not knowing what they will be returning to, if anything. Although they arent fleeing bombs or fighting, it is still a traumatizing experience. In 1998, we were evacuated to a shelter in a school during the ice storm. We were in the the hardest hit area of the Montérégie and although we didnt have to face fires or things like that, it was still tramautizing. Now every time the weather man says possible freezing rain, i still feel some of that panic. I can only Imagine what those people are going through.
The Red Cross was there to help us and may other people in the same situation. Give generously to the Red cross; they are there to help where help is most needed.
