what a jerk! Some cashiers are just nasty and think that consumers shouldn't get a great deal... shame on them and good on you for sticking up for yourself. Definitely follow up with Head office and make sure you receive an incentive for your extra efforts.

Tell me about it, I was at Sears trying to buy a pair of earrings that was on sale but sold out. The girl before me requested a rain check for 2 pairs and they gave it to her, when it's my turn the same cashier said they don't give out rain check anymore, WTF!

I would defs follow up with Head Office! Don't you hate how cashiers try and make up their own policy. I once had a cashier tell me I couldn't use a coupon because it was expiring soon!

Haha, on not using the coupon because it was expiring soon. Sounds like she thought the store had to send them into the manufacturer before they expired to get their money back.

Fashionablyfrugal, if I read your post correctly, the employee was not a cashier, but he prevented you from taking the TP? Did you ask him a question or did he just vounteer his opinion?
Wasn't sure how he prevented you from using the coupon if he wasn't the cashier?

Great that you were able to get the deal in the end.
For me it's hit and miss at any store really. At Shoppers, Store Manager once told me 'it's not the same as picture, we don't read what it says, we look at the picture but I will let you have it this time'. I was like 'do you think that's a smart thing to do?'. I think, just guessing, that store managers and different store shifts maybe get evaluated on sales during their shift, and coupon is showing as a loss until it actually gets reimbursed, making them look bad for the time being. And there could also be some spite involved there as well when you're getting a really good deal.
