First the Canadian penny disappeared, now the $1 pricing at Dollarama. What's next?

Hmmm, would really depend on the item...a $4 item I can't return to Dollarama versus Walmart maybe a little higher but they would let me return it if there was a problem or I decided against it. Alternatives other than WM....I used to shop at the Bargain Shop but I don't think they are around anymore? Giant Tiger has some $ items too.

Good point about being able to return to some stores but not able to return to dollar stores. Like returns o.k. at Giant Tiger, plus getting money off when you use your reusable bag
There are still some Bargain Shops around in Ontario:

Don't support by purchasing the $4 items and maybe they will get the message. It will take a while but could be worth it in the long run.

My daughter asked me "how come it is called Dollarama, but they are not selling items for a Dollar"?
I prefer buying stuffs at Dollar Tree better because I can use my credit card (not that cost much , but Im after my Pc points, every point counts ) ; you can exchange items, but you cannot return..

Dollar Tree has some really interesting finds and it's great when everything is $1.25. I've found cooking stuff that were $3 at Dollarama but found the same ones for $1.25 at Dollar Tree.

I don't have a Dollar Tree anywhere near me, but there is an independent dollar store near my work, which always has interesting stuff for about the same as Dollarama or less.

Come on guys, dollar store is never a sustainable business model. You can't set ONE price and expect to sail through inflation.
I'm more annoyed that they kept calling themselves dollar-something and don't even try to stick to the $1 increments. Come on, $1.25?

Dollarama used to be my last best hope for Old Dutch lemon powder cleanser if the Walmart or Fortinos were out of stock on their store brand varieties. But spring 2016 taught me that the product is gone-I quested for weeks!
Now I chase Vim lemon liquid cleanser (250ml) specials at various chain stores when the current bottle is in use.
One thing I can find at my local Dollarama but not at Dollar Tree is the grocery list pad. I love it.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.
