We ended up at the kids' home yesterday and omgosh, when we opened the door, the aroma of their simmering spaghetti sauce was incredible! They'd made fresh pasta which was drying in the front den, with the sliding glass pocket door locked, since the two Siamese cats know how to slide it open.
I mentioned to our DD that I've never made fresh pasta, so right then and there, she hauled out the ingredients and had me make it! Then she turned the pasta roller handle, as I fed the pasta into it and caught it underneath. When we finally had them through the last setting both Hubbys were put on transfer duty, taking them from the island to the cloth on the dining table.
Omgoodheavens, dinner was incredible! I've never had "melt in your mouth" pasta before and that sauce was heavenly!!
We played a couple rounds of Phase10, and were home by 8:30...what a lovely afternoon!
We got more white crap overnight which is always an unwelcome surprise here, but it looks like we'll be putting up with it from now on. Crappy stuff.
