Quebec is thinking of having Security guards at the doors of retirement homes to check and make sure people entering are not showing any symptoms.
We are having emergency Virus meetings with management. Things are changing by the hour, it seems.
My stepson is out of a job as he was working for the Blue Jay's at their Spring Training park in Dunedin, FL.
Families are going to get to know each other REALLY well over the next few weeks.
Well, I will bid you all good night.
While it's a nice gesture, how many people are walking around right now who are showing no signs of symptoms? How many people are just carriers? Or have just contracted the virus but don't know it yet? I've always been a mild-case germaphobe, but this virus has certainly thrown me into Code Red territory. UGH!
So DD heads out last night to be with her bff's. Gals sharing stories and thoughts on this whole Covid 19 thing. The consensus was that since they are young, healthy and being at low risk, they decide YOLO!
Bring on the beverages and turn up the music.
Hmmmm, then when she came home I hope she understood MY " older person's " reaction.
I am 2 steps away from a hazmat suit ( in my paranoid mind ) and have been doing the whole social distancing thing, hand washing, as well as slathering on hand sanitizer.....but you go ahead honey " live your best life! "
ha ha ha ( this post was just for amusement )
Morning gang.
Working from home today (scheduled, way in advance of the past month)
...might be scheduling a whole lot more work from home days though...we'll see.
Have a wonderful day folks.
Stay warm and dry...it's gross out today.
So, we're supposed to relieve the congestion and not overburden our hospitals, but I just went to the clinic with my usual spring asthma, no fever, trying to stall bronchitis, and what happened?
I got told to go to the hospital, they're not seeing ANYONE who been out of the country! Even a little girl got turned away! Just WHO are they concerned with? THEMSELVES!
No, I won't be going to any hospital that's for damn sure...there are really sick people there!
Our DD has had 2 bouts of the flu and now bronchitis, and a Dr friend told her to not go to a clinic or hospital, just stay home, tuck under covers and rest.
So she's home now.
As far as this virus goes, I'm not horribly concerned, even being 70...its the flu. We do what we can to keep clear of germs, but if I get it, I'm pretty healthy so I think I'll get through this. If not, it's been a good ride.
Stay safe, everyone!
Well, the good news is the Catholic teachers have reached an agreement :top:
Good morning! Ok, it's noon....
Oh, @Lynn49 - just the thought of nalysnyky makes me all warm and fuzzy. I haven't made them in a very long time, but we love them!
I have had very yucky two days, hoping today turns the corner. Husband is off work sick, hoping it's just a bug like the one going through their staff.
So, the big virus - yep, getting somewhat scarier, I feel the way GoJays does.
I had mentioned before that my great-nephew was on an trip to Italy for the school year, sponsored by the Rotary Club. He went in August, due to come back in July - I think he's in Grade 11. He was placed in northern Italy.
Well, they were told over the past week that schools would be shutting down for a month. A few days ago, they practically have shut the country down.
I don't know the circumstances, but he was able to get a flight to Edmonton yesterday; he lives in Athabasca, north of Edmonton.
At this point he doesn't know if he will be going back to complete school, or what...
Glad he is out of there, because their numbers have been quite high.
Hoping you all have a Fabulous Friday!
