So much to be thankful for! DD had her purse stolen in Nashville, thank heaven she’d locked her passport in the hotel safe, no phone no money, flight home cancelled, in Chicago her GF left her with a few hundred in USD and her US credit card and checked her into the Hampton in Chicago when she flew home, no communication with her, even the hotel didn’t allow international calls! She finally scored a flight home after her ordeal and the guy booked her in 1st class to Toronto, likely felt sorry for her. In Chicago, using her friends phone, she had called her Hubby and just said “pick me up in Toronto”. She learned just prior to her flight to TO that they booked her next flight home the day before!, and she told the counter guy “she wouldn’t be able to make that one”. A total cluster*uck, and we were so scared when her friend flew home to ThBay and there was no way she could contact us after that until her Hubby texted me that her luggage was checked on board the Chicago flight! He and their son were at the gate as she entered Pearson. It was quite the emotional reunion!!
She has a wretched case of Covid now, so run-down….but there is still so much to be thankful for.
