Chat-a-Thon 2017-18 Thread!

Those 10 days will just fly by @Lynn49 since your group of friends and family at camp participate willingly in varied activities that create even closer bonds! ( or perhaps it's the alcohol bringing y'all closer together? ) tee hee. You are so correct about Skippy and I being a titch Fruit Loopy, but boredom does that to people I think. Every day seems much like the one before and the next one to come, so a few giggles /memes/jabs and silliness helps pass the time.

I could absolutely go on a clean freak binge ticking off all the odd spots that have been ignored for a long while, but just typing about it I've now lost interest in doing that.

In other news I have entered the new century and have ditched my landline for cell which I thought was going to be easy. Easy enough but gotta wait nearly a week for my internet provider to switch my gears!
Actually loop was mentioned so between them and @Lynn49 I am indeed loopy!

Traitor!! ( @Skippy ) lol. We only have a landline. No cell phones at all. Not sure if we will ever change.

I prefer the landline because it has its own power source and is not reliant upon the electric company. I am not so certain if that is the case, any longer. I am currently with Telus and just had a total loss of phone service. There was no way to let them know it was not operational, even while my internet was still functional. Finally, I had to call with a cell phone over a wi-fi connection to report the outage. It was easy enough for me, but I fear for my aged mother. If I were not here to fix the problem, she would be at a loss to even call 911 for an emergency.

Morning gang.

Shhhhhh.....so scary how quiet this place is on or near a weekend, especially a long weekend. Hoping everyone's Canada Day Celebrations were as big and loud or as quiet and intimate as you desired. We went for quiet and intimate. Today however will be our Celebration. Family coming over for a BBQ despite what road blocks Mother Nature will install with her rain and overcast nonsense!

Scrumptious but simple menu to be served buffet style. Hard to believe for the dessert time I resisted baking ANYTHING with chocolate or caramel, no cakes, muffins, tarts...nada!

Good morning for a second time today. We were woken up at 2am when Dh smelled smoke and heard a barrage of fire trucks. We’ve had that happen before but it was a complex a couple of blocks away from us and it smelled like chemicals but this was a “campfire” smell.

We have a small park across from us so we thought it might be there but thankfully it wasn’t but we could see the smoky haze around the streets lights. Sirens went on FOREVER but have yet to see or read anything online about it.

Today is just going to be a super slow and lazy day. Lazy except for cleaning and laundry :lol:. Then again I’m the weirdo that finds joy and relaxation in cleaning :yikes:.

yes...good morning indeed, even though it's now afternoon. The extra day off of work is so appreciated by the guys. Gives them that chance to decompress after having company over on Sunday. Shall I say Captain Underpants?! That's how they dress when no ones here. TMI...lol!!!
