He clearly wanted to leave, witness that he signed a contract the Leafs were probably willing to match, granted the after-tax amount may be lower here. This may also well be the worst market for media scrutiny, so he probably won't be the focus for as much attention, esp. negative. If he really prioritizes winning the Cup, it's certainly not clear that the atmosphere in the locker room was fully conducive to doing so, and Vegas is perennially a stronger playoff team than the Leafs.Quote:

good afternoon! What a Blue Jays game last night's was! I nearly turned it off since we were up 8-0 in the 1st.
Those Dann Yankees! lol.. They managed to claw back up to tie it 9-9 in the 8th. Then we scored the all important

Can you believe that!!?? The Jays won in extra innings on basically an overthrow to first base.
The game was streamed on Apple tv+ ( which I am no fan of watching it that way but???)
Also BOTH the NYY and the Tampa Bay Rays lost their games so now we're 2 games ahead in top spot!
DH and I were out of town on Saturday at another Celebration of Life ceremony. Really tough one too, nephews should never have their lives end before their own parents or their Aunt's and Uncle's. The 2 hour drive home for us was pretty much done in silence, even though we gave a lift back to the City to the 2 kids and ex-spouse of the deceased. Grim, life is sure grim!
We all but forgot about the Jays game being played and thought we were seeing a repeat from the other day when we got back home to watch the highlights. So odd that they went into extra innings again, with a 3-3 tie ( again ), to end up with a walk off hit again! Jays fans seeing it all happen live must have lost their minds....ha ha
