just want to let you guys know about the canada post spl card; i was looking for a prepaid credit card that i can load more than $250 with the lowest fee. Canada post spl card can be loaded up to $500 and the fee is only $6.95. I called my local post office to ask and the employee found the card but failed to confirm the fee and thought it was $10 as other cards. Anyway, i had to go to the store myself (some SDM has canada post inside their stores) and happened to deal with the same employee, picked the card off their racks, gave to her to load and paid $6.95. The fees were listed on the back of the card too! One just have to flip the card over and read.

Good to know. My own bank also offer prepaid credit card but the problem is wait time when i transfer fund from chequing to prepaid cc, it takes a few business days for the fund to be available. I needed to use a cc that day and after searching around i found canada spl card.

I appreciate knowing about the CP SPL card. Another version of what the prepaid Visa or Mastercard gift cards charge for fees based on value of card balance. Is it possible to register the SPL card or is one stuck phoning in and doing a tedious Y/N process to get the card balance?
