We bought a bag of no name salt and vinegar chips. The bag says 200g. When my wife opened it she thought it looked small. We weighed it on a scale and it came to 140g including the bag. We checked a couple of other items we bought to confirm the scale was accurate (one item was listed as 200g and weighed 204 and the other was listed as 215g and weighed 224, packaging increased the weight). I spoke to Loblaws and they said they do not give credit on this product!! So I guess it is okay for them to sell it?? I am going to call them back tonight when I get home from work, they should be giving me a refund.

OP, please call back and escalate the complaint. Ask to speak to a supervisor or manager. They may be able to 'write you into the binder' at your store's customer service desk, so the next time you are in, they will give you a refund or, better yet, a gift card. Have received a gift card by mail by calling the 1-800 customer service number on the flyer. It's been a while, though.

This happened to me a number of years ago. Something very similar, it wasnt chips, I think it was crackers or some such. Anyway... instead of a refund, they gave me a fresh package of whatever it was, told me to keep the original purchase for the bother. I weighed the new one and it was fine.
However they handle it, good luck.
But, for future reference, I'd weigh the empty bag... then for future purchases, double check them before you open them. it might be a trend, or you might have just stumbled upon a one-off.Last edited by bhlombardy; Tue, May 22nd, 2018 at 06:57 PM.
