Thank you GOD for leading me, my Husband and our children away from this unholy religion!!!
What would Jesus do?! Set fire to the lot os them, I hope!
This makes me sick and just turns my stomach.
A new grand jury report says that internal documents from six Catholic dioceses in Pennsylvania show that more than 300 "predator priests" have been credibly accused of sexually abusing more than 1,000 child victims.
https://www.cnn.com/2018/08/14/us/pennsylvania-catholic-church-grand-jury/index.html
Among the more egregious cases, the grand jury reports that:
• In the Greensburg diocese, a priest impregnated a 17-year-old, forged a pastor's signature on a marriage certificate and divorced the girl months later. According to the grand jury, the priest was allowed to stay in ministry by finding a "benevolent bishop."
• Another priest in Greensburg groomed middle-school students for sex, according to the grand jury, by telling them that Mary had to "bite off the cord" and "lick" Jesus clean after the Nativity.
• In Harrisburg, a priest abused five sisters from the same family and collected samples of their urine, pubic hair and menstrual blood.
• Also in Harrisburg, a priest raped a 7-year-old girl who was in the hospital after her tonsils were removed, according to the report.
• In Pittsburgh, church officials said that a 15-year-old boy "pursued" and "literally seduced" a priest. A church report later acknowledged that the priest had admitted to "sado-masochistic" activities with several boys.
• In the Allentown diocese, a priest admitted sexually molesting a boy and pleaded for help, according to documents, but was left in ministry for several more years.
• Also in Allentown, a priest who had abused several boys, according to the grand jury, was given a recommendation to work at Disney World.
Tuesday's news conference began with a short video of three victims who told how they were abused and how it changed their lives.
An 83-year-old man said he couldn't show any affection to his wife and children as a result of the abuse he suffered. A woman said the abuse started when she was 18 months old. Another man said, "When you have the priest touching you every day, that's a hard memory to have. The first erection that you have is at the hands of a priest."This thread is currently associated with: N/ALast edited by Lynn49; Tue, Aug 14th, 2018 at 10:17 PM.

So absolutely sickening, and to think that is from so few dioceses.

@Natalka , it's the conspiracies, the cover-ups that should shame their church...if anyone can call it that now. If the Catholic church was in trouble before wrt congregations shrinking, they ain't seen nothin' yet!!!

I agree, Lynn.
I'm actually not happy with Pope Francis on this topic, the last higher-up he 'disciplined' was to send him away for contemplation, etc.
I at least expected him to defrock him, and others. Well, that term isn't used any more, it's laicization . How about excommunication?
That's just the internal stuff. Legally, I wish there weren't the statute of limitations, hopefully that can be changed.

@Lynn49 I just couldn't watch any more of that pain. A few segments of the victims accounts and I lost it.

We saw nuns kill children: The ghosts of St Joseph's Catholic Orphanage
It was a late summer afternoon, Sally Dale recalled, when the boy was thrown through the fourth-floor window.
“He kind of hit, and— ” she placed both hands palm-down before her. Her right hand slapped down on the left, rebounded up a little, then landed again.
For just a moment, the room was still. “Bounced?” one of the many lawyers present asked. “Well, I guess you’d call it — it was a bounce,” she replied. “And then he laid still.”
Sally, who was speaking under oath, tried to explain it. She started again. “The first thing I saw was looking up, hearing the crash of the window, and then him going down, but my eyes were still glued—.” She pointed up at where the broken window would have been and then she pointed at her own face and drew circles around it. “That habit thing, whatever it is, that they wear, stuck out like a sore thumb.”
A nun was standing at the window, Sally said. She straightened her arms out in front of her. “But her hands were like that.”
There were only two people in the yard, she said: Sally herself and a nun who was escorting her. In a tone that was still completely bewildered, she recalled asking, Sister?
Sister took hold of Sally’s ear, turned her around, and walked her back to the other side of the yard. The nun told her she had a vivid imagination. We are going to have to do something about you, child.
