Really just the time on the stove and in the car needs to be changed :) My big clock in livingroom needs batteries
I'm expecting many deals on energy saving lights, alarms and batteries to conclude by November 4. Actually, I may need to see if there is an odd sized battery in need of replacing. We have so many AAs around the livingroom (remotes and AAAs for DVD player) but one or two Cs and 9V are still in use, just not stocked with a backup for the latter two.
My November Goals:
Meal plan- No take-out (*We are away for a hockey tournament but I will bring us breakfast and lunch- dinners out with team. Also, we have free coupons to use at casino for meals)
Clean out garage.
Post tons for sale (will when cleaning out garage) Put money in envelope for something. Will decide what it is for later.
All Christmas gift bought and wrapped by November 30th.
Clean both boys closets out. Completely.
That should keep me busy!!
This is a busy week for our family. Hopefully I don’t accidentally post in October when the calendar turns.
November 1 is picture retake day for our son.
Another shop for my family friend planned for next Saturday (Nov.10) (one of our big shops before she goes to visit her family in Peru). We have gotten her stockpile room started, and my goodness, it is beautiful (My first true work on a stockpile room, my parents aren't into couponing at the level our family friend is yet). I will make sure to get pictures to show everyone here, but she has at least a year to two years of health and beauty, along with plenty of paper products and cleaners. Some food also rounds off the stockpile (but her family goes through all the food pretty fast)
Ciel, no change of clocks here! Love it this way.
Wondering if any of you can help. I need to buy a blood pressure monitor.
There are a zillion out there. Hypertension Canada has a recommended list out.
I only need a basic one, upper arm not wrist, no Bluetooth, etc. It's not price that matters, but functionality and accuracy.
Thinking of Omron or Bios brands, maybe.
Let me know if you can advise. Thanks.
morning all. i did not sleep well... going to be dragging today. and it raining... plan is lots of tea. lots.
for this monty.. i have some decluttering orgaising plans.
i want to set up my desk area. .. and tackle the wall in teh family room. i already have my box ready for fooddrives that i know are plentiful this month. i am dead center in town and we wil get at least 3 of them ... i like to be ready
this morning i will sort through all the halloween stuff and toss what needs to go . goal is to get to 2 bins tops.

therapist for youngest tonight.
already paid a bit of the bills. , will finish off tomorrow when i get paid
if the rain ever stops i will get outside.
Dry night last night for trick or treaters. I had 67 plus 5 (My DS and his friends that were in and out of the house)
I decided to take a vacation day yesterday and drove to casino to get the free Dutch oven offer. I ate lunch for free, got $20 in drinks for kids for free and made just over $400!! Decided to go to Food Basics. Spent $7 and change on almond milk, grapes and wraps. Then hit RCSS where I hit meat deal!!! Chicken wings for .99 lb and boneless skinless chicken thighs for $1.98 lb. I spent $42 on 8 x family tray of wings and 2x family tray of thighs. I cooked one tray of the wings when I got home so they are in the fridge for DS. The rest I bagged and labeled for the freezer. We are stocked up good on meat!!
What else is new it’s raining here. It always rains here and I either get lots of sleep or not enough sleep. Today I didn’t get enough sleep I went to sleep at 1am and woke myself up flopping like a Pancake to yelling and cursing at whatever it was in my dream. I have very vivid dreams and I already know that plus I known to talk in my sleep. Rain/depression makes me sleep but I have anxiety so that makes me want to get up and do things. I want to look at my PC optimum app to see what offers there are since I didn’t save any because I didn’t want any.
I have to make a choice today but I also have to get in touch with somebody to make this choice or decision.
My mom made me get a huge 1.4kg pumpkin pie. I detest pumpkin pie, I wanted pecan pie but my mom kept saying it was too expensive. This huge pumpkin pie was 2$ at superstore. I am going to give it to a neighbor I think I have left over whipping cream to go on top.
My mom bought yogurt yesterday but she is allergic to it l. I thought to myself wow someone brave enough to try dairy is brave enough to deal with the discomfort of it. She is allergic, I am allergic I got it from her gee thanks really appreciate it.
I found this on the Canada post website “CUPW is also conducting strikes on Vancouver Island, in the Ottawa area, and Quebec: Campbell River, Courtenay, Nanaimo, and Port Alberni, in B.C.; Ottawa and Arnprior-Renfrew in Ontario; Sorel, St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Vaudreuil-Dorion, and Sainte-Thérèse-de-Blainville in Quebec. Meanwhile, strikes have ended in Prince Edward Island and in Saint-Jérôme and Joliette, Quebec”

Wow- November 1st! So much to do! Hope to get rolling and have a productive night tonight.
The kitchen is clean and I emptied the dishwasher before we headed out the door this morning. There is a load of laundry in the dryer that needs to be put away. Will put another load on tonight and follow thru. Bed sheets I think if I plan to wash as soon as I walk in the door.
I paid off my new King mattress yesterday. Feels good! Love my new bed.(it was 0% for 3 months so figured may as well wait till it had to be paid) Think I will clean my room tonight. Move a large shelf down to the dining room and post the stuff on it for sale and get stuff rolling out the door.
The dog needs to be groomed. She is getting very shaggy lol Will call to book an appointment next week.
Off to check out my PC point offers!
My PC point offers stink this week. I redeemed $180 in PC pts in October. Wow! I did stock us up on great meat deals and other stuff and the freezer shows it. My pc balance is sitting at $482 right now.
I went to RCSS on my lunch break. I do want ground beef (to make taco meat, pasta sauce, chilli and a few lasagnas) But will wait a bit for clearance deal since it is on sale and sometimes they mark down after sale because they have too much. I did find 0 sugar rye bread for 50 cents a loaf so grabbed 2 for the freezer. Perfect for toast with eggs :) Can't make it for that price really.
I stopped at Sportchek too and see a cozy pair of Columbia fleece pants I may want to own. On sale for under $30 so will think about it. Trying not to spend money right now on unnecessary items.
nat -I use a Omron upper arm blood pressure monitor I have had it 4 years now model #BP710CAN and it works great I am thinking the price was 70 something at shoppers but I used my points to get it free 4 years ago
mind you the doctor wanted my blood pressure on Monday when I got my flu shot I think it was 138 over 90 which is not bad for mind you I am on 2 heart pills (bad family history too dad had a stroke ,mom 2 heart attacks )
well went to shoppers for seniors day as i needed milk etc spent 66 but got 16,031 points in total it was an extra 10,000 points ,got a few really good deals I posted under brag of the day
then the car wouldn't start so I went inside and asked to use their phone (no cell phone here) hubby then walked over in the rain (15 minute walk)he got it started but we need to put it in the shop for a recall notice about the ignition ,which we have put off for 7 months as its hard with only one car ,so that will be next week some time -it sure stressed me out thou
nice supper tonight chicken breast, mashed potatoes ,and broccoli
We made it into November! Last night, I had two teens after 6pm come for food drive donation (had to tell them I gave at the store's food donation box recently) and then when I was about to turn the lights off at 8pm, 4 preteens with two parents showed up!
Turned the calendar pages afterwards and dried one of two towel loads (I wanted to read and did not wait for load to run its cycle).
This morning, I looked through the new flyers and community paper. I happily spotted an event for recycling electronics in Dundas on Saturday (my laptop must go at this point) and since I am going to Dundas, what a coincidence! Memory cards have to be taken out first--not sure I'll ever get my files back unless sibling does make the effort.
Rare morning to have only light laundry to do! Then off to donate a small note journal and pen to the local purse project drop off site, hand in 6 pcs of Halloween chocolate to Pizza Pizza for the free slice coupon (good for cheese or pepperoni pizza slice until Nov.18-only today will stores take your candy and hand out coupons (1 per customer)). Bought a pop as well (so much for no spending...then spotted the Halloween candy deals at SHoppers $1 Carnaby Street caramel bags (1 bought) and Sunkist 36ct fruit snacks-$4 (I bought)).
The Fortinos flyer has Galbani mozzarella cheese listed. Don't forget to look at the Coupon Zone board for the Barilla Pasta booklet with two Galbani coupons and two Barilla pasta coupons.
Longo's (Nov. 2-15) will have 10% off the $25, $50 & $100 Hudson's Bay gift cards at their stores.
I found a fur trim-free coat that I like on the Simon's site. Even with $100 off, it's over $200.

The red colour is almost the same one as on my current winter coat (which has poly fill, not goose down). But my budget is $40 or under! It was fun to find the new coat regardless.
@Angela273 What a fun evening your family had last night! Wish I could have seen the cats walking at night with you and your DS!
Thanks. I was surprised that our 11yr old cat walked that far with us. Our 12 yr old cat was meowing towards the end, wanting us to stop because he was tired. Neither cat was on a leash. Some kids came out of a house to yell and scream at our meowing cat. I was two small houses away and yelled back at the kids. “That’s our cat and he’s trick-or-treating with us.” Everyone was staring out the window of that house when we walked back that way and took our cats home.
Wow, made it to November without turning the furnace. I think I created a frugal monster in DH. I am in mini freak-out realizing Christmas is next month & I have nothing but DHs gift, but its so perfect it makes up for feeling behind. Neither child wants much so we may suggest a vacation in March. DH has found a bit of work and so a chunk of money is going into our TFSA. My niece lost her job last week but she is smart girl and reached out to Auntie Lilo to see if I can help pad her cupboards (she already has a PT time and had November rent ready), heck yes. That 13 cent a box pasta that was waiting for the food bank is going direct to her plus a number of things I already had on hand. I will also watch for deals and try to do a another box of groceries next month, she does not live close to us so its not a quick trip to see her but we have a family event this weekend so I will send the stuff home with her brother.
The boys are too old for Halloween and the oldest worked last night. We had less kids than in past but I thinks its because our kids are out of it so we don't get any of their friends.
Tonight’s supper is Dominos pizza. Large 4 topping for $13.31. Large meatza for free from my contest win. There will be some leftovers for tomorrow.
I heard from my specialist’s office today. I now have my next appointment date, which involves a road trip. Dh is unable to get the day off work, but he will be home in the morning to send the kids off to school.
we are really enjoying Dominos now, the boys love pizza and we all use the same account for the app so we seem to score a free pizza once a month and its 3 minute drive do the driving son always offers to pick up. Of course with two teen boys we never have leftovers:-)
must have been a dominos night... Hubbys work had a fundraiser . and they had extra pizzas.. so he bought 3 larges for a 30.00 donation.
Shopper army has missions... and I got into 3 of them .. eek... i have never done them... but i am hearing good things. i excited to see if tis works. and its for Chocolates... so .. hubby will be happy
morning all. we have rain.. more rain.. day 5. sigh . i had been hoping that we were able to go to story time... but that is not happening.
i am looking forward to the weekend. it should be a productive one. i need to take my mom shopping as well.
my decluttering is going very well. i am starting to feel good about the house.
making a beef stew today for supper. something yummy and hot. it will be nice.
Morning! Rainy day here too. TGIF.
Have a wonderful day everyone!
It always raining here I am used to it. Just not used to it when it does it in the fall or winter.
Someone punched someone else on the floor and then someone came out lost it on them. Because it was a guy and the person who came out was a chick. I couldn’t take the yelling anymore I went out of my suite to find out or tell them to go in their room to pout. But i got the tail end of it before I could stop the stupidity that ensued.
I got 10hours of sleep but I could do more of course. I have an appointment at 10:30am today. My Tuesday appointment wants me to change it to Thursday when I have stuff in the afternoon and morning then an appointment on Wednesday and Friday. I am a busy lil beaver.
After or before my appointment I am going to shoppers to pick up an iTunes gift card. I saw something I wanted somewhere and the cheapest one they have is $15 for a card but I only want to spend 1.54$ how illogical is that?
Anyway I have to think about how I spend my money again because I don’t have a lot.

well it's a p.a day for my granddaughter ashlyn -so Ashlyn and I are going to the show to see "littlefoot| this afternoon I am taking her water thermos and a bottle for me ,I will buy popcorn plus I have enough points were I get in free with my scene points a fun day and then she will sleep over also for a treat ,at nana and papa's
Finally took the trip out to Stoney Creek to Len's Mill (the Ibex sheet quality has changed-it looks like a woven mesh texture cotton sheet with the stripes printed on; I bought the double sized (only size) blue and green striped version as there was one tan stripe version left) store and got the item, plus 5 pr of socks for me, rubber gloves (my nails are needing them) and a Woolite laundry accessory (store carries plastic dryer balls, wool dryer balls, two zipper compartment wash bags and a bra bag plus an x-large bra bag). Walked down Centennial Pkwy and stopped in the Salvation Army thrift store-found two new looking medium men's flannel pj bottoms-Dockers for $7.99 and CK for $4.99- in grey toned prints I can live with and bleach with care as needed.
Value Village Battlefield Square-had to go through the coats, women's long sleeve tops & sweaters and pants and men's pjs and sweaters plus bed and bath. Found a bath handtowel, lightweight terry bathsheet, a women's wool houndtooth check skirt ($4.99 Ports brand with lining!) and a Hudson North charcoal gray zip up mostly wool cardigan ($13.99 but I'll set it aside for Sunday or next weekend) after combing through nearly all the Small to Large sweaters (there's a $6.49 Bluenotes jeans pullover I almost bought but there's a discolouration on the right sleeve that would have tipped Dad off that it was secondhand.) I'll reclaim the Denver Hayes button up cardigan that Dad cannot button up-good sweater with some wool and I need a sweater like that for around the house, so it'll work out. Now I won't worry if there is a clothing sale very much (could not find a winter jacket for me, sniff and tried 3 pr of pants and had a good chuckle with each pair) this month. Just delighted I spotted some good quality items and got them.
Feel like the rainy weather is ideal for baking tonight and making lots of tea (after the laundry is done of course). Have to make sure my outfit for tomorrow ready and to take the laptop computer to the electronics event in Dundas tomorrow (will post it in Hamilton thread in a jiffy).
Plan to head home just after I look at Shoppers deals at Eastgate Square (cannot resist-there's always something to see there).:top:
I've told myself that I have to make the chicken dish tomorrow night and then freeze it after it's cooled. I intend to make the most of the return to Standard Time (sleep or reading a book--have to see) on Sunday. :whoo:
today has been fabulous. i started taking my glucosamine again a few days ago. I can actually move again, i got alot done today at nap time. house is looking good. i am happy. i put in a stew at lunch in my dutch oven ( lodge.. paid for with sb!! :) )
tomorrow will be busy .. lots of little stuff to do . but it will be worth it. :)
ceil -I love len's mill store haven't been there since before summer ,cant go far in the car -as it needs a recall which is getting done next Wednesday
well Ashlyn didn't stay long at the show as "it was too loud" it was a bit of a musical so out we came and the girl gave me a free ticket for to use another time as we were not in there long then nana and papa took Ashlyn to Wendy's for supper -I had a coupon for hubby and I
I just got her into bed at 8.20 but she came downstairs and asked for a bedtime story book to be read ,so I did my son called when she was having a bath -he said he missed her -so I let her call him back ,her baby sister was kissing the phone -lol
We do not go overboard on Christmas or Birthdays, etc. It is more about the time together vs the money that is spent.
Ds - new transformer (Amazon using Swagbucks gift cards), special Crayola colouring book with markers (SCOP)
Twin boy - dinosaur collection ($25 second hand), special Crayola colouring book with markers (SCOP)
Twin girl - special Crayola colouring book with markers (SCOP) and NO Idea (she doesn’t need more baby dolls)
Dh - don’t know and his birthday is really close to Christmas.
Depending on the movies playing at our local theatre, I’m thinking about going to a movie as a family.
I still need to figure out stocking stuffers from Santa. I’m going to get gum and favourite chocolate bar for Dh. We each get a sweet treat in our stocking. Some years there were bath products, electric toothbrushes, or small toys.
We won’t be travelling for Christmas this year. It doesn’t work with dh’s work schedule and we travelled last year.
