I don't think there was any attempt to suggest it's not a good deal. Fwiw, I agree that "only pay the tax" is not a synonym for "free" despite how often the latter is used when using the former would be correct.

At major mackenzie and Markham rd in Markham ON. Too bad I didn’t know how to post the receipt. I bought one oxi and one cauliflower. I only got charge 0.98 which is the cauliflower price. I guess it depends on the cashier
