Thanks for the thread OP.
People are talking about coronavirus but it's a bad flu season.
64 died, as of Feb. 38,000 people got the flu in Canada, so far.
Usually older people get the flu but this year, a high number of children under 5 are getting the flu.

Usually the vaccine is available by the middle of the month, but in the current situation it is not clear how soon this will all happen. There will surely be delays in production and delivery.

just got an alert from sdm. the flu vaccine is in!

you can complete the consent form on line and get a bar code that will be valid for 7 days after which time all of your information will be deleted and you will have to redo the consent.

DH and I are booked for Oct 13 which is the first date available for seniors.

Well myself and my wife got our shots today, it is a lot faster getting it at SDM than waiting at the doctors office for your appointment

Call in advance if you need a high dose shot to make sure they have any left and to book a appointment

the high dose vaccine (which is recommended for those over 65) seems to be in short supply. the sdm in newmarket at leslie and davis drive has run out. NO ESTIMATE of when more will be coming in. by the way, this particular sdm is not allowing anyone to make an appt for the shot. Note that all stores are individually owned and so appointment policies may vary from store to store.

one more note- the sdm at green lane and yonge is NOT offering the flu vaccine this year despite what the sdm website says.

The SDM in Aurora had high dose vaccine this morning when I went and when we called last light they told my wife that for the high dose ones you had to make a appointment but for the regular ones you could just walk in. I guess i may of gotten lucky for the high does ones that i called shortly after getting the email but even though they gave me the appointment yesterday i had to call back this morning to verify that they had any of the high dose ones left

I just received a email from SDM which said that the store near me is out of the vaccine already
I am sure glad that we got our shots yesterday
