Despite having a lecture with Mom two days ago about not going into friends' homes, she did that yesterday. I used the word "stupid" when we had words after her visit. She and her friend need to know better and I know they would not have worn masks indoors.
Meanwhile, I saw this very sadTwitter thread about how COVID-19 struck more than one family member after a family funeral. From the US:

BC boy stuck in the house because of COVID, got his neighbours to stop at the end of his driveway, and smile. He made a COVID joke book for his neighbours.

I'm seeing tweets in Hamilton indicating that a lockdown is likely to be announced on Friday. That would mean library closures too. However the tweets concerned small businesses-do they have curbside pickup or local delivery? Will consumers support small businesses?
Not helpful for us that don't drive or don't have dedicated Internet. Do not want a repeat of the closure from March to July.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Public libraries in Ontario won't close during current and future lockdowns. Toronto is currently in lockdown, but Toronto Public Library locations are still open with "limited and modified in-person services". https://torontopubliclibrary.typepad...ning-plan.html
From https://www.ontario.ca/page/covid-19...-and-open#grey:
"Libraries
- Open for curbside, delivery and pick-up
- Patrons permitted to enter libraries for contactless drop-off and pick-up, and to access computers, photocopiers, or similar services
- May open for permitted services (e.g., day camp, child care services, mental health and addiction support services to a limit of 10 persons [AA meetings], provision of social services)
- No classes"

The new Dollarama store yesterday had a screener at the door. Think this is the new standard everywhere in the province.

I think a Quinte West Walmart had a COVID outbreak. And because they don't have tracking of all customers they had this statement:
While the risk of transmission to customers is relatively low, individuals who shopped at Walmart Trenton on Nov. 28 or 29, or Dec. 1, 2 or 3 are encouraged to monitor for symptoms of COVID-19.

My mother is in a retirement home in the Bloor and Dufferin area and two of the staff members have been tested positive so now all of the residence have to stay in their apartments for the next two weeks. The staff bring their meals up and put them on a chair that is placed beside their front door and then the staff member knocks on the door to let them know that it is out there.

Same with both of my grandparents. They have been in and out of quarantine for outbreaks. Thankfully they have stayed healthy up to this point. Also, my mom and aunt are tested weekly as essential caregivers which helps when they are not in outbreak (grandparents are divorced and in different homes).
