Thread: Dell Sucks!

My laptop adaptor cord is fraying again!
My 3rd one in as many years!
This is a common occurrence from what I've read.
As no longer under warranty, I'm buying a generic replacement.
Also the battery has never held a charge for long either!
If Skippy goes off the air you'll know why!(Unfortunately I can only use a laptop)
My next computer will not be a DELL!This thread is currently associated with: Dell

I would never buy from Dell. I don't believe in the Dell system. But even if you do build custom you can still run into problems. DH's computer was bought in Jan and it has been back into the shop no less than 25 times. Thank god everything was under warrenty. We have replaced so many things on it, even two motherboards! So computers are fnicky, that is all. Custom or not.
Remember that even though pets are here for such a short time they teach us things we would never be able to learn in many lifetimes on our own.

I owned a Dell desktop for about 3 days, hated it and took it back to the store.... never again.

I've had 2 dell laptops. The only issue I had with the first was with the cord. It frayed at the connection into the laptop (I don't really know how to describe it lol). Other than that they both seem to be alright for what I use them for. Actually now that I think about it it frayed at the connection into the wall too but my dad was able to put a new....well you know..connector? on it! ha

So far and Ive had it for exactly a year, ive had to get a replacement battery and a new cord and replace the monitor.
Monitor was my kids fault- 175 plus 40 install (generic's dell wanted 600)
Cord- they wouldnt replace I found a used one on ebay from Tdot for 25 (they wanted over 100)
Battery- they tried to not replace it but I was still under warranty so they sent me a ''refurb'' which sucked but better then nothing
With all that said next time ill just go to FS and pick up a 500 dollar lappy.

I've had a couple Dell laptops for work within the span of 6 years and the only thing I've had to replace was the spring for the DVD drive.... and that was the fault of the idiots at airport security who dropped it on the floor. My laptops get a lot of abuse from frequent travel.

i recently bought a dell desk top direct. i hope i don't have trouble with it. the only trouble so far(knock on wood) has been with vista itself. vista is known for its wicked ways.
