I've been appointed question-answerer and explainer.. so sit down and read
So you decided you're finished with over paying, and want to get more bang for your buck ? Good.
Where do you get coupons to start off with ?!
You can order a good amount of coupons online from the comfort of your own home. There are sites that let you choose which coupons you want, and they'll even mail them to you ! Here are the sites www.save.ca , www.brandsaver.ca , www.websaver.ca , www.gocoupons.ca . Now you have the basic coupons and a good base to your collection, a little bit of everything. Other ways to get coupons could be off tear-pads in the store. These are the coupons placed beside their product in the isles, or on a demonstration table. Also, most big name super stores have their own coupons. Presidents Choice keeps them on a big board when you first walk in. So be sure to check for those. This is only the beginning.
Will emailing companies actually get me coupons ?!
YES! A lot of companies are very generous with their coupons, even sending free product coupons for you to use. Although not all will send you coupons, it's a hit or miss type of deal. Theres not harm in trying ! There is a thread here where people have written which companies they've written (or called) and if they got anything in return ; http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/75117-c...mailed-canada/
You want me to do what, with who, where..?!
Yes, i'd like you and your DH to go to SDM and get a RC for HBOO, because it's OOS, TY!
Confusing, eh? Abbreviations are used for many things here, simple sayings such as 'thank you' to store names (shoppers drug mart) things to do (rain check) and products (honey bunches of oats). Don't forget the family members (dear hustband) See this thread here for more abbreviations ; http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/78133-a...onyms--canada/
How do I get a picture too ?!
Those pictures on the left under peoples usernames are called Avatars. Almost any picture (fallowing site rules) can become an avatar pretty easily. Also in this thread i'm going to give you, there is instructions on how to make a signature (the words/picture under the text of a persons post) http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/175930-...a/#post2924791
Rep? What's that?!
Rep is a way to show someone that you like their post, agree with them, or just for a little 'pick me up'. The more rep someone has (also called candies) the more they are 'loved'. Although you may see some people with low amounts that have been here for a while, but that is a different post i'll explain later. Some forums let you give both negative and good rep, but SmartCanucks likes to stay positive, so they only allow the spreading of good rep. I took some screen shots of me giving Bub some rep, you can review step one, and step two.
What is a 'trade rating' ?!
A trade rating is some good (or bad) feedback someone is given after a trade. Assuming you already know what a trade is. If I had a bad trade with someone, meaning they didn't send their package, or send me an empty gift card, I could give them negative trade rating, and leave a comment telling them, and people looking to trade with them that this person isn't a very good trader.
How do I embed a YouTube video in my post?!
So, you've made a video and uploaded it to YouTube, and want to share with SmartCanucks? Here is a thread with detailed instructions on how to do this. http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/163388-...d-post-canada/
(more added soon)
