Had to clean out my wallet to find my Costco card (still missing)
Found 3 starbucks gift cards. (won door prize at Toronto event years ago- we used them a few times already) Checked balance and have $23.13 between the 3. Not a fan of starbucks but will make sure to use them up this summer. (don't mind the cold strawberry drink but it is so sweet!)

Ol' Darrell is pimping the heck out of his $1.49 day sale at Sav-On Foods, so I decide to take a look on my way home. Regular beef is selling for $1.49/lb, as well as cans of Chunky soup. The beef isn't lean, but will be okay for my chili.
Got in around 1300 and there's a crowd. Everyone seems to be looking for it and the staff say that it is sold out. No rein cheques. It was a decent price, given how expensive meat is. I am certain families stocked up with 20-30 pounds at a time.
But there's no mention of it being a 'door-crasher' special or limited supplies. I can understand a good sale selling out, but this is early afternoon and they are already empty. What a bait-and-switch nonsense. Did they bother to have more than 10 packages available? Or, did they only do enough to maintain a legal veil of legitimacy? Either way, I cannot believe a business would expend so much effort to generate BAD will. Do they really think that folks are going to say, "We're already here, let's drop a ton of cash on your expensive items." Or that we'll fall for it again, next tuesday? I didn't expect much from Sav-On. I expected shady/slimy stunts like this, but I thought that I would give them a chance. I sure am glad that they were exactly on my way home and I did not waste a single minute or breath to go into their store. Fool me once, and all that entails. My food may not befit a king, but I eat like a horse.

Well it was a tough job spending the dy at the beach but somebody had to do it. My friend has a metal detector and somebody had posted about losing their wedding ring. He came with his 2 cute little boys and we watched as they tried to find it-to no avail. Maybe tomorrow when the tide is lower.

There regular prices are on the high side but that’s what PMing is for. The veg and fruit are really nice quality and since Dh and I are plant based and we only eat vegetables and fruits it’s worth it for us. We save so much $$$ by not purchasing meat, dairy and eggs that it doesn’t affect our budget. So between save on and Safeway we get really great quality produce.
I will PM things like plant milk, creamers, plant based cheeses, etc…. and the ease of showing there is worth it. I PM and use coupons, shelves are full, store is clean, staff are always friendly so it’s one of the only places we will shop.

Rescued 2x cartons of soup, 2x jars of salsa, 1x jar of blueberry jam, and 1x jar of butter chicken sauce from the dump.
