I have done some fantastic couponing at Petsmart and thought I would post the saving of my recent trip.
Petsmart will match their online prices, so I printed out pages for Science Diet canned cat food, Iams canned food, and Whiskas canned food. Here is the breakdown
Store prices:
Iams = .89
Whiskas = .69
Science Diet = 1.69
Online prices:
Iams = .79
Whiskas = .50
Science Diet = .80
I bought 21 Iams, 40 Whiskas, and 12 Science Diet. The coupons I had were:
18 x .50 Iams
3 x fpc Iams
20 x bogo Whiskas
1 x 10.00 Science Diet (towards any food)
Here are the totals:
Regular price: 66.57
Price match price: 46.19
Coupons: - 31.37
subtotal: 14.82
tax: 5.54
oop: 20.36
It's not as impressive as the 100 Iams cans I got for .10¢ a piece before Christmas, but the 73 cans of cat food will keep my furry little ones content for a while longer, which is really what matters.This thread is currently associated with: PetSmart

I love when they send you the coupons to your email spend $50 save $15 etc. Those coupond are AMAZING! Even better when the items you buy are on sale already and you have coupons for them. I remember last year I got super cheap FeliWay because of coupons, sale and WUS coupons as well as canned food. I also got a bag of cat food for $17 regular $55. Amazing

Thanks for the tip on the online prices, I'll have to remember that!Insert Clever Signature Here

Nice score! Great tips. I did not know about the online price matching either. Dog and cat food are just another thing I must buy this week so this is great to know.
Just joined Kiva.org, an organization that funds micro-loans to people in developing countries. I love the idea that the $25 I saved in groceries can be given to a fish woman with 5 children in the Philippines to help grow her business.

When you price match online, are you pricematching PetsMart itself? Or another company?

Thanks for all the great comments

I forgot to mention that on my receipt was a coupon for $3.00 off my next purchase (just had to go online and fill out a short survey to get a validation code). I have gotten it before and used it towards my purchases even though I was also using coupons.
As well, if you sign up for their card online and put in your pet's birthdays, they will send you printable coupons in your email for their birthdays ($$ off which can be used towards any purchase).
downtothewire - I am pricematching Petsmart website. You just have to print off the page and take it in. The prices are almost always lower than in the store, sometimes by quite a bit.

I just caLLEd my local store and they said they do NOT pricematch their online website because its a warehouse price and its also the american price. They also told me that you cannot order food from the website if you are in CANada as it will not be allowed threw customs. I called petsmart online number and they confirmed they cannot ship food to Canada.
just to make sure I called my next closest petsmart and they echoed the same thing the first store said, that that is an american website, with american prices and they do not price match online webistes. They do however price match local competitor flyers.
I guess you got lucky, and hopefully you continue to be allowed to do this as pet food is soo expensive!Insert Clever Signature Here

PurpleBunny89: As far as I have been told, people have done this lots in various provinces. Many others have done it; it's talked about on the pet thread here: http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/249053-...thread-canada/ That's how I found out in the first place - someone in Ontario on SC posted it.
Just wanted to add that once last year in November I went in and the cashier said they don't pm their online prices, but the supervisor came over and said yes they do, so I assume it's fairly new.Last edited by BC Gal; Fri, Mar 2nd, 2012 at 01:04 PM.
