FBM-I just booked a place on Vancouver Island for August through home exchange. I had enough Guest exchange points that I can stay for 9 nights-woohoo. The only cost is the annual fee of $230 plus a $70 cleaning fee-seems like a bargain for 9 nights. I love being near the ocean.

Paid the PC MC this morning along with the cell, home services and my CC. We do that every week but I was too tired last night. We were crazy under budget which is
concerning the car went in the morning for its tran rebuild
.
My dental work is booked for Monday so there goes $900 and change.
Booked an appointment with our financial advisor the following week.
Even though it’s a lot of $$$ going out and this week is sparse for me I’m so happy that we are prepared for things like this. While it does mean that our big anniversary trip for our 20th won’t happen this year and most likely will happen in the spring on next year it’s all good.
The laundry bell calls……. Have a great day everyone

@harbie I hear ya about the necessary things that pop up for replacement or repair. Always $$ going out, that transmission job would be my nightmare!
We just dropped another $300.00 at the vet on the weekend to continue treatment for our 16 year old sweetheart of a cat ( Claudius ) . He has thyroid issues,
on meds atm. The bloodwork needs to be done every 6-8 weeks to check if the meds need adjusting. He only weighs a scant 7 1/2 pounds now.
Skin and bones, but still as docile and loving as ever! It's good you were prepared for your upcoming costs.

@walkonby oh how I feel for you with vet bills. Our Harley became a diabetic in his later years and then had hypothyroidism which took some visits to the vet derm and around 2k to figure things out. Regardless of the cost I’d do it a hundred times over
. We do anything for our babies

sniff, sniff, Harley still tugs at my heart when I look at his photo. This is also why I keep my avatar of Rufus up, he was really something!

Good Morning! Waking up in a hotel! Had a free room offer and felt like eating without cooking so decided to go for a drive yesterday
.
Working now and then heading to meet my sister and mom for dinner later today.
Seeing posts that a storm is suppose to blow into my area tomorrow- People concerned it will ruin the high school grad. Hopefully it misses us.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Since my week is pretty slow work wise I decided to get to see my PT again. I’ve been trying to deal with some Achilles issues and I’m not having much luck on my own so shockwave therapy and deep tissue massage it is. I went yesterday and going back tomorrow. Luckily I have coverage through Dh so I’m taking advantage of it. Also going to combine it with RMT treatment.
Saved $100 yesterday because of insurance

I am still reading and enjoying all of yours posts everyone.
Stella is on her way to be fully recovered. But the vet discover something with her heart....a hear murmur(souffle au coeur)..It can be due to her age...She is 10 years old not 8 and a half we where told when we adopted her...
Eve do attacks of asma 2 yesterday and 1 earlier today...They are small ones compared in 2019..but still concerning...
She is very old. We adopt her in june 2014 maybe and she had already 6 years old...Maybe not her true age too....She is at the end of her life I think...
They are both the reason I smile...The love of my life...Those fact broke my heart in pieces....I am so devastated
Other than that same old news...no change on my health..Dad still do tests and is on a waiting long list for his leg surgery...It is very difficult for him to just walk..so no fun
Thanks for reading it and yours concerns. The goal is to live day by day not to much thinking hahaha !!!!
I love to save money!!! Frugal life hahaah !!!

Good Morning!
Was up early and started work early.
Popped out to RCSS to grab the boys ribs. ($1.99LB) One small pack for tonight if they want it and 2 large ones in the freezer.
Bought 2 CB cheese slices for DS (smoked cheddar PM $3.99 each and used coupon $3 WUB 2)
Cherries $1.99 LB.
Redeemed $20 in points and paid the difference in loonies!
It is looking dark and gloomy out.
Should go putter in the garage later today. Also plans to go for a latte/drive with my friend later to look at houses (she is looking and I enjoy going for the drive!!)
I haven't packed a thing yet for the road trip. Saturday I have to babysit my niece for a few hours in the morning and then bring her to her surprise birthday party. Since I have to be there for 8am we have decided it is just easier for me to go Friday night and sleep over.
So today and Thursday I need to get stuff done around the house!
Have a great day!

Good morning,
Learned on msn web page a tip for keeping strawberries longer .I will try that and I hope it works because my strawberries are moldy very not long after purchased them. And QC strawberries are here, they are so good. The tip is to put and mix in a bowl 6 small glass of water with 1 small glass of vinegar.Let them sit a few minutes and then rinse them and dry them. With paper clothes.Re put them in their bascket with a paper clothe. It supposed to keep them fresh up to 2 weeks in the fridge. And remove spore that cause the moldy and the dirt...will see...The goal is to live day by day not to much thinking hahaha !!!!

I am glad I could ordered SampleSource too this year and got a few samples and FPCS...but did not get the 2 last VIP offers on ice cream and no sugar Brisk ice tea...so deceving...
My Maxi seems to not hold the Premium Ice Cream Chapmans containers anymore due to taking the freezer space for their pc ice cream and haggen dazs...Only a few salted caramel and vanilla last time...grrr
I got a new printer earlier this year because the other one was finished.....Just a cheap in price one.Another HP.Right now I am low on black ink and just take the black ink to print coupons because ink is so expensive...And I buy the refurbished one too....
I cannot connect to Instagram for quite some time now...It is annoying...The connect page have a problem for me...
Well..Looks like I pmed for the last time last week. Now I was told by a supervisor that it is pming or coupons...Not the 2 at the same time.Very ridiculous. It is not the first time I was told that but now looks like real.....Of coarse pming is now more advantageous than use a coupon.Example I was pming the Chapmans Premium ice cream 500 ml container from GT at 3,77$ reg price at maxi 4,99$ and use a 1,00$ coupon..so the pming is a little bit more advantageous...
They apparently allowed me to do that last time last week the ice cream because I argued.
And we can just use English Coupons if they have an Ontario mention...huh
Looks like my maxi want us to work more for saving money and make their own&?&*?&* RULES...
Living on a very tight money...is not easy...
Looks like I did not found the new 2$ Special K cereal coupons....And my dad eat 1 big boxe a week..so frustrating.Cleared tear pads....i TRY to be aware of the news coupons in a frennch couponning fb page but this one was not posted....ALWAYS cleared tear pads...grrr..I find very difficult to find the tear pads coupons.I try to go the first day I see them posted but no I dont get lucky each time
Dont talk about points fidelity programs....The offers are just ridiculous..I have the Moi(Metro ,Jean Coutu ,THE Scene plus (IGA)and the Pc CARD(Maxi and SDM)....I only use the pc card ..the others not really worthed and Metro and IGA.,..I dont go there anymore it is to expensive...I try to pmed when I could...The Scene plus card at IGA is more for the Scene plus member price than the points actually.
I dont get much points those time at Maxi with PC...Always poor offers and spend more to get less points...huh???
Oh aNd dont forget the if you dont go the first day of sale at Maxi when a good sale you will get nothing..Cleared shelves...Looks like everyone search the deals on the food with more and more expensive grocery in these days...Same for the cou0pons...I dont know how a familly can do a good variety grocery shopping anymore without being and became broke...
I try to purchase a little bit more when I see a good sale on something we use and keep us littlle bit stocked between the sales.Absolutely when the expiry dates are good and long.
4 liter of milk is now 7.87$ in QC.We go trough a lot in 1 week....Last edited by cath007; Thu, Jun 13th, 2024 at 09:41 AM.

I am very thankfull and happy to not moving this year too.The price of the rent here is ok...not great but ok.QC appt are very costly right now..And not so maby appt are in rent right now..It is a BIG QC problem..
We installed the ac maybe 2 weeks ago.I HOPE the ac unit will at least running this year too..Linving at a 3 level is not a choice..you have to get ac...
We had a few cooler days those past 2 weeks but seems not to be back into the normal for today and the upcoming days...
Very frustrated We had to clear and remove all of the stock that was in the locker in the spare bedroom and on the balcony because it was not allowed anymore..grr...
So now it is packed everywhere and less space on the balcony...And I enjoy the balcony...The goal is to live day by day not to much thinking hahaha !!!!

Cath -i rinse my strawberries in water and vinegar and dry them ,put them back into the container upside down with a paper towel on the bottom .It does work they last longer i have been doing it for a few months now.
I have been feeling a bit down due to health problems ,i am hoping to get better with time ,we will see.
Yesterday went out to get chicken breasts ,as we are having the kids for a late lunch on sunday with the grandkids.I will buy the corn and salads ,potatoes later.
