Summer continues to steam ahead. Next Monday could be a provincial or municipal day off for many. Banks should be openbut credit unions may not be open.

Thank you @Ciel21 for starting this thread

I am indoors most of the time with the AC on when it’s super hot. Also keeping myself hydrated. We are doing most of the cooking on the BBQ . Trying to not used the oven .

Very disappointed with our vegetable garden this yea not sure if it’s the weather . Our tomatoes did not bear fruit like previous years and for some reason the squirrels are eating up most of the vegetables. Looking forward for some hot peppers

Good Morning! A little sad that I have to post on the August thread Summer is starting to fly by.

Dinner last night was switched up. Decided we felt like pasta so I pulled a package of the grass fed beef from the freezer ($3.97 RCSS) onions, mushrooms, spices pasta and jar of sauce. Wasn't fancy but was nice change from bbq etc. Delivered dinner to oldest at his studio at 730pm since he had a long day and was planning on working late in the evening. The kitchen was left trashed but I have the dishes soaking in the sink now and will get it all cleaned up soon.
Will clean out the fridge today as well.

Have a list of shopping I want to get this sale period. Will go to RCSS today for sure for the watermelon and a few other things. Will redeem PC pts.
(Will do the Quaker Harvest crunch cereal deal for oldest DS- his fav (PC pts/PM sale/coupons)

Today: Clean kitchen and fridge. Put away all the laundry hung up to dry yesterday. Tidy bedroom. Plan dinner.
Going to the beach tonight for a walk and then a swim! Have to enjoy this weather while we can.

    Have a great day!

Will repost this here as I did not even clue it that it is August.

    Good Morning Everyone,
Another insane week but do we expect any less at this point but the end goal was met, I am off today and tomorrow. although I did answer a text and an email.

Monday was off to a rocky start because some of my meetings got cancelled and these were things I had to have done to take today off. Turns off someone left the company (it happens) but I went from having back to back to back to back meetings Tuesday to only having 1 meeting and then Wednesday was supposed to be back to back but only ended up with 1, but we are and I am off for 5 days.

Now why I replied to a text and an email is because some are aware my Dad had surgery yesterday, my Dad is super private and doesn't like everyone knowing. But he had his third surgery of the year yesterday, all went well, doc said it actually went better than expected and maybe just maybe he can come home tomorrow.

I had a super slow morning this morning, laid in bed didn't want to get up but I did get up just in time to jump in the car and head to grocery store and grab a few things. Originally my plan since I was off today was go to store to store to store and just enjoy grocery shopping but than I look at the flyers and really only needed things from No Frills so that is where I went. I must be in vacation mode because I did buy some extras plus I am working really hard to find options for Mom. But also I want options, I am on a mission to get back on track with eating, I say as it is 10:30 and I have not had breakfast.

But also grocery shopping was tricky because my store looks like it duid during the pandemic so many empty shelves, the employees said all of there trucks have been delayed and they don't even know if they are coming before the weekend. Not sure if I will run out later and see if I can grab a things elsewhere, we will see.

    Happy Thursday Everyone.

They are increasing Old Age Security monthly checks. This month. If the person is over 75 years. Hopefully they lower the age for the increase, soon.
@coupon girl , sorry-- your husband is too young

    Good Morning Everyone,
Got a bunch of random stuff done yesterday, nothing earth shattering, I actually kept feeling like I was losing track of time. For example Mom got up I thought oh it must be around 11 nope it was 12:30. We decided on pizza for dinner and Mom is like we better make the dough, I am thinking it is like 1 does she want an early dinner, nope it was the normal time 2:30.

Once we got dinner going I did log into my work emails to clean up a little and deal with a couple things that only I can do or pass things off to someone else who will take care of them for me. Then I got an email from my boss, we talked about me being off yesterday and today but the email said next week which he approved, I emailed him back but didn't hear back so I called him and thankfully he was good considering I did work yesterday but he saw I caught up took care of everything, UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I literally said in my email this is why I wanted these 2 days off because I am making silly mistakes and mentally I am done right now.

I was talking to my Sister-in-Law earlier this week and I said it first but she agreed we just don't feel like ourselves right now. Work is so insane this year a level none of us have seen before and we have so much is going on at home and in our personal lives (Dad had surgery, Mom is waiting for surgery, she has some stuff with family on her side) we just feel like we have lost ourselves. We were talking about cooking and baking but neither of us are doing these things because if we aren't working we are done. So I really need to take these 5 days and try to recoup and recover a bit.

Not sure what today will bring, I think I might tackle some of my produce prep and the fridge isn't busting but it is full. Maybe spend some time in the kitchen and just get some things done.

I did start a new crochet project last night, I am trying to make a bag to carry my pens I use for my tracking. I have turned all of my work projects into bullet journals so I need the cute pens (which I buy at the dollar store) so I need something to carry them with me when I have to go into work.

    Happy Friday Everyone.

    Morning! Tgif!

Short work day but so far it is quiet. Thinking many people in my firm are off on vacation/starting the long weekend early.
I just have a few things to do this morning and am basically ready for any emails I receive asking for something etc.
Enjoying my coffee now and then should tidy my office.

Hope to hit the beach tonight if the weather co-operates. Tomorrow have a girls night away with my bestie. Dinner/Show and hotel room.(this was planned/booked long ago) (Was suppose to go to show at Kempenfest with my sister but forgot had this one booked already )
Hope we can pop into Costco on the way home Sunday since we pass right by it. Not needing anything really but would like to take a look around.
Want to get out in the kayak Sunday afternoon/early evening or Monday. Will pick up green onion and croissants today so I can make egg salad sandwiches for the Kayak crew

Have a wonderful and safe long weekend everyone!
