Can anyone recommend some good stores to shop in USA for kids shoes? I'd like to buy a few pairs for my kids for school as we're currently in the states but we went to Walmart, kohl, jc penny and the prices are higher compared to canada. I guess there's no cheap shopping in the states anymore?!

@Purdee , I do not know about kids shoes but I have seen a few people posting about getting adult shoes at Target on sale for 40% (sorry do not know the exact details, but they keep popping up on my feed).

My little trick failed me this morning. There were a couple of things I could not get at the store yesterday I really wanted so I went online this morning to look and see if they were showing stock and they were, so off I went.
Nope, no peppers but I did find 2 bags on the reduce rack so maybe that is why they showed stock but it didn't say low stock. The bag I got still looked pretty good they won't last us weeks but they will get us through the weekend.
The other thing was dill, nope they had none so I decided even though it is more expensive I would go up the road and check at Sobey's. They had it but it was $0.50 more expensive, oh well I grabbed it. As well they had grapes on sale so I grabbed a huge bag to snack on.
I am in cottage country and our town was already a little insane this morning, the roads are busy the parking lots are packed. But I go to pulled out of the grocery store and there is a 53 footer who has missed the drive way they needed trying to back down a 4-lane road. So they did it but they only backed up to the driveway they needed to turn into but they were making a right turn so they needed to go left to go right as they do not have that type of turn radius. I have all the respect for truck drivers I see what other people do in front of them to not end up behind them and it is a hard job. But even in my car if I drive by I don't try to back up, I find somewhere to turn around and come back. I do not know I just think this is so dangerous.
Also, I do not know what it is but lately I am obsessed with Peppers, so much so on my last work trip I changed where I was ordering dinner from because the one place did not offers sauteed peppers for the burrito bowls so I changed to another place that did. So yeah those peppers will get used up.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Was walking along a road and saw some thistle growing amongst the flowerbeds alongside the path. I started to pull them. Got some stings from the nettles and found that annoying. A fellow walked past and thanked me for doing my impromptu gardening. Amazing how a couple of kind words can make all the effort worthwhile.

@Purdee I used to shop in the USA for shoes but post Covid it’s just not worth it. Occasionally I can find good clearance at famous footwear.
We met with our financial advisor earlier in the week and then our planner today. We are set, DH is done work as of January and I will follow within the 1st quarter of 2025. I will not be advising my workplace until bonuses are paid out and then it’s bye bye. I am a little nervous but we have saved for this and we are ready.Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

School is starting in the US this month. When they bring in the Fall items, they will put the summer items on clearance. If you are near a JC Penney clearance center, Kohls clearance center, Bealls clearance center etc, that may work at this time.
Check fliqq.com* where you are, put the the zip code, and see if there are any sales near you this week.

Good Morning Everyone,
It is a slow morning here, I keep thinking of things I should do but here I sit watching gymnastics so that is how that is going.
Got Mom to do her grilled veggies yesterday as I was worried we were going to lose the veggies as some were bought the week before. It is so hard, I know it is hard for her to do, even sitting on her stool is getting harder and harder but I also know she doesn't want me to do it. It is so hard to know right now how to help her and it has not been a good week. Really the only interaction she has is with me, none of her friends message her anymore, bro really doesn't unless Mom reaches out first and she rarely leaves the house, mentally she has had a bad week. I am trying my best but it is so hard when I don't know how to help her, even doing things in the house is getting so hard for her.
Dad did not get to come home yesterday, we are hoping for today. Step-Mom and Sis are at the hospital so I will wait until he gets home and go see him then. He did message us all to say he feels good but feels the recovery on this one might be a little longer (which we knew going in).
I did do some minor produce prep yesterday, mainly just washed it all and put in containers, will do the chopping and various other things today or tomorrow (will see if I find my ambition).
Happy Saturday Everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

@SassyAshley , it's great that you are seeing some of the Games coverage. I saw aglimpse of bball on Nbc, and men's cycling as it ended on Radio Canada. Justvthrilled you are doing stuff for yourself this weekend.
I know what you mean on lack of others reaching out to your Mom. One aunt has some regular contacts with family and friends and still drives, 0but other aunt literally is bored out of mind due to mobility being dependent on whichever family member is avail for pharmacy, medical or grocery runs. Both aunts are thrilled to get photos or letters from me. I usually get a call thanking me but I have said I understand what it is like to be remembered (ie a person with needs and wants and dreams outside of giftgiving occasions and health constraints). If there is a friendly weekly calling program in your area or if library might have telephone game club, see what is available and tell Mom. My bro rarely thinks of Mom unless he needs something from her or is about to go out. He dreads her at the door asks as he leaves. Neither one wants to to 5min daily checkins or plan stuff unless Bro makes a big deal or he is paying for something.
I am putting off needed grocery shopping until tonight or after the rain falls as it has been sepia toned light outdoors for more than 90min. Had house to self for most of morning,so breakfast, livingroom vacuuming and light cleaning were done. Have two loads of laundry done. One more to go. Last night I was keen to look at used diaper bag sale sites as I saw some discountinued styles for okmorices but big name or artist ones are priced like collectors items.
Loblaws' PC Opt bonus redemption event ends Today. Might be spree time for summer needs, groceries or back to fall needs.

@Purdee Target, Payless, and Nordstrom Rack (miss the Rack) would be worth trying.
Not sure if the Rack has Anniversary sale like regular Nordstrom does for fall merch. Anniv sale ends Tomorrow at Nordstrom dept stores. https://www.nordstrom.com/browse/anniversary-sale/kids/shoes?breadcrumb=Home%2FAnniversary%20Sale%2FKids% 2FShoes&origin=topnavLast edited by Ciel21; Sat, Aug 3rd, 2024 at 01:34 PM.
