Great shop at SDM on Sunday

It's not often I have a brag.

After the Pancake Day fiasco of opening up my SEALED box of Aunt Jemima's that I'd purchased only a couple of weeks before, mixing it up and then thinking, 'Hey, what are all those black things?' I called Quaker, who apparently owns that lovely pancake lady's products.

In case you were wondering, yes, those black things were bugs. I'm not sure if they were alive (the lady at Quaker asked that), I didn't look closely enough before screaming in horror and dumping the whole bowl and the box into the compost bin outside - and calling DH to get his carpool to drop him off at Sobeys for more pancake mix. I looked VERY closely at the new box I must say!

For that experience, Quaker sent me several $4 vouchers, and very quickly, kudos to Quaker for that. The vouchers specified that you could use more than one on one product. I used one unwisely at Walmart on a box of Corn Bran before reading the fine print and realizing how valuable these were.

On to my purchase!

SDM had Quaker cereals (Corn Bran, Life) for $2.49. Good deal on their own. Got three of those, so $7.47, but had $8 in those vouchers.

Oikos yogurt was on for $3.99 (I just recently discovered this, you must try it if you haven't!), and I had .50 coupons for each of the two tubs I bought. There was .50 left over, it was taken off my bill too.

Finally, I had an FPC for Dempsters bagels for $3.29.

Total bill, $18.74. OOP, $6.45!

Glad to see a huge company stepping up to the plate to make something right. Great use of coupons on your part.
