@coupon girl , shingles are horrible and I feel like the medical community needs to be more open about the risks.
My Oma had shingles for years, they went behind her eyes and they would not clear up. She was in so much pain and used to pick at her head trying to relieve the pain.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

@lizzie bargain , I think that is why my kitchen was driving me so insane was because I usually do it right away but this time there were things Mom wanted to make or needed to be rotated into the freezer it was driving me a bit batty.
Last night after work I got it all cleaned up and am so happy. Just in time to grocery shop again lol.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Good Afternoon Everyone,
It was an in office day today, we did a mock order as we try to move around some responsibilities. We have someone retiring at the end of the month and originally the plan was for me to take over one of their tasks (not their job we did hire a someone new) but after doing it a few times it does not mix well with my job. You need someone who is always at their desk and can be on top of the communication and email, not something I can do well in training so I will just be the back up. So today we walked through the people who will taking over.
Need to go through the flyers and see what is on sale. I took a quick look this morning and looks like Food Basics will be the winner this week but we shall see.
The only thing I know we need is more Romaine, I am obsessed with bowls of all sorts right now I like to use a lot of lettuce and a little rice. But will see if there are any other fresh options.
Need to figure out Dinner, was going to make Dumplings but Mom is in the kitchen so will have to come up with something quick.
Happy Wednesday Everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

I am having headaches today but they eased on my walks to and from stores. Had a spot of pain above left brow yesterday that went away. Sometimes the headaches seem to happen when there is snow. Had headache last week. Am at point where I think my hot chocolate K-cups are likely triggering something. I have had hot flashes not long after finishing every mug of hot chocolate.
So, spending today's carbon rebate-got the last smoke/co alarm needed as I has a points incentive so added three other things to collect $5 ct money plus points multipliers. Second purchase for chai latte k-cups at regular price. Redeeming all my ct money covered $9 of the cost, a good feeling. Great sausage and magnificent bun lunch outside with grape pop powered me for stops at Dolar Tree, a long session at Winners to try to find some deals or brands, then a look through clothing clearance at Walmart. Winners has shrunk some dept inventory but there were still Christmas clearance items. Did see 3 black Levi's Henley waffle knit shirts with buttons in Large size tops and a dull grey medium Silver Jeans snap front Henley in womenswear. Wanted more colour but struck out. Found small items, $11 4pk of mens cotton-blend New Balance tank style undershirts(will keep one for me and donate the others) and Laura Secord large chocolate bar.
Did spot xs and s Devoted Henley snapfront Henleys in Walmart. The George Henleys in deep yellow seemed to have better waffle Henley fabric over the Devoted Henleys. No boot clearance pricing. The better prices on boot had been seen during first three weeks in Nov when winter outerwear and boots were on sale.
Leftover coats were mostly zippered puffer coats. Not realy suitable for current cold snap for long periods.
Cdn Tire had two marked down coats in clearance. A men's black medium size puffer jacket ($24) and a longer red parka with storm flaps (did not check price). Was surprised to see a Chef'n kitchen tool in clearance, as Chef'n was an online US brand that operated like Avon or Tupperware brands.
Hey, my CT receipt reflects 10% off the detector price. The brand is on sale on Friday but I have seldom seen personal points offers line up with sale priced items. The price online was still regular price for this specific unit.

Mom received a large Waterbridge milk chocolate bar from someone who also shops at Winners. That bar tasted just like Baker's semi-sweet baking chocolate. Very disappointing taste.
A surprise find that I did buy from the bath and body section of Winners: double soap bars of Crabtree &Evelyn's Gardeners' soap. I literally searched Sephora online earlier this week for that particular line but did not get results.
I was not able to find Nivea soap bars at Dollar Tree. Starting to think those soaps have been discontinued. When I get a chance to try the other Dollarama stores, I will verify that Nivea soaps are not available.
Bro got two different meat pizzas from a place in town. The cheese on meat lovers' pizza tasted strange to me and smelt off. Hope that is not an indicator that tummy trouble is forthcoming.Last edited by Ciel21; Wed, Jan 15th, 2025 at 09:46 PM.

My mom also got it in her eye and to watch her through the torment was almost unbearable. I wasn't going to get the ShinGrix shot, either. I was of the mindset, 'If I get it, then I'll just have to tough it out.' However, after watching my mother suffer, I re-thought my position. If I can avoid it with a small injection, I'll take it. I don't take flu or CoVid shots, but I'll take that one. It's expensive for uninsured folks, like me, but the alternative is so much worse.
My food may not befit a king, but I eat like a horse.

Found 7x cups of Activia yogourt in front of an RCSS. Best Before date was Nov 24, but I took them home and ate one. Seems just fine. Normally, I would be more cautious with a dairy product, but only 6x more to go.

Good Morning! Still snowing here but hopefully it will let up soon.
Starting the day off alone! I heard the shower go on and then I must have fallen in a deep sleep because I didn't hear anything after that or anyone leave.
Enjoying my coffeeand planning my work day. Will clean out the fridge when I am making my breakfast later this morning. The leftovers are mostly done so the bits left I will toss. I noticed a freezer bag full of chopped cooked chicken in the freezer so I will pull that this morning for our dinner. Will make a small mac and cheese to go with it. (and if the container works as I hope I will go buy a few more)
Tuesday was a $0 spend day but yesterday I went out for lunch with my friend. She asked and I said yes. The nice part is we are liking a new little place that has daily specials and even when not on sale is pretty cheap. With no HST charge it is even cheaper!
Off to look at the new sale flyers and write out a small list of fresh stuff and any other must needs/deals.
