Yesterday was beautiful and sunny but today the cold weather has come. April showers……. Blah blah blah. I want sun!
Yesterday was a zero spend day. Also a bank deposit day and a free 1lb of coffee from Starbucks for Dh using my points. Today’s a bit different. Our tax man called and we’re going to sign off and pay him for his work. I’m putting off Costco until tomorrow afternoon.
I received my Sample Source the other day and gave my brother and SIL the kitty treats and puppy food samples, and some FPC’s for them but will use the others and donate them to the local shelter.

Oh yes (thanks for the reminder Harbie) I received my sample source box as well!
I went through it and gave the coffee pods to DS. I will put the other stuff away now and put the coupons in my coupon folder!
Funny- I had the Kettle Air fryer chips in my hand at No Frills in the morning of the day I opened the box. I guess now I can try them for free
Entrance is clean!! I had held off doing it till the drywall job was complete so it was finished (including paint!) so it was time to clean.
I am also working on oldest's laundry. Have emptied 3 bags ( of youngest DS's) overnight and one back pack he took to a gathering. I put all his beer in the fridge lol. I keep putting stuff the garage and my vehicle. I am seeing progress!

good morning. My 2 cats cry as if I'm starving them all the time?? I feed them ALL the time. Honest to goodness I wish animals could
speak words. In other news, a slow day here. Nothing on the outside for me to shop for or attend to. Since rain is in the forecast I'll putter about
in the house. My walking treadmill is about to support my efforts, I still just walk as briskly as possible on it, but no jogging.
Enjoy the day all.

Good Morning! The wind is blowing here and gray clouds but the sun is trying. Looks like a storm is brewing
Happy with the things I got done yesterday around the house. Then went for a drive to casino to pick up free gift (last of the 3- a Roots bag) had a free dinner then left! Topped up the gas tank (it was 2C cheaper then home but the drive there noticed the price was a lot higher many places)
And popped into Kawartha Dairy. Was going to get a nanaimo bar cone but one small was $6.50 something plus tax and the 1.5L $8.99 no tax so of course got the tub. The lovely girl offered me a coupon for 2 tubs for $13 but we didn't need another since I bought many last week! She told me to keep the coupon so I will take it on my next visit to my sisters and bring my niece! (good at any store!)
Today- Finish DS's laundry.(Need fluff the load in the dryer and fold). Get plastic storage bin and move all the pictures on the dining room table into bin. (rescued from leak) Thankful just the boxes were ruined and not the pictures/albums) Clean windows and dust. Give the floor a good wash.
Tidy kitchen (few dishes to wash up) Clean out fridge (make fried rice with the leftover rice and add cooked chicken from freezer) Put pasta sauce in freezer. Chop mini peppers and put in freezer (use some for breakfast- making an omelet)
I will be happy if I get that done. Trying not to over do it!
I should go out for a walk this morning before this storm comes.....I need fresh air!
Have a great day and hope everyone stays safe!Last edited by Frugalbigmama; Tue, Apr 29th, 2025 at 10:58 AM.

@lizzie bargain , no surgery date yet, she is trying to lose 75 lbs, at last check she is about 10 lbs down but it is so hard when your movement is limited. Even physio has said there is little she can do because her hip is so bad.

@lizzie bargain , thank you.
Good Afternoon Everyone,
I was in the office this morning for meetings, original plan was to work the whole day there and then go shopping after work but with the threat of the storms decided after my meetings I would head home. Did not want to get stuck on the highway in heavy downpours or hail.
With that being said by the time I got home they had removed all of the rain for us and just showed storm winds. I just checked again and it still say storms for tonight but there is nothing showing on the hourly tracker.
On my way home I did stop at Food Basics for a few things, I needed Lemons we go through so many in the summer between marindates and dressing. I also grabbed Almond Milk, Egg Noodles, and sundried tomatoes. Everything was on sale except for the Sundried tomatoes.
We still had some of the rotisserie Chicken I got from Costco on the weekend so we pulled off the white meat and I am making a Chicken Alfredo Pasta Bake with Broccoli and Mushrooms for dinner, will also make a salad to use up some cucumbers that are going a little soft.
Now, I need to find somewhere to store Mom's walker, even folded up, it is a lot bigger than I expected. The spot I was going to store is too narrow so I need a plan b. Right now it is blocking out front door which made going and coming home from work fun today.
Happy Tuesday Everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Good afternoon. A day spent finishing laundry and getting our place in order before working this week.
Had a good meeting with Mr. Taxman. Dh is gets a refund and I only owe a tiny amount (like 5% of what I’d planned on) so yay.
Just making a list for Costco and Safeway for some smaller items when Dh gets home today.
The suns out finally a bit but still cold. I’m definitely heading outdoors when we get back.

I am exhausted. Yesterday was a 16 hour day for the election and then today my bff and I went to the Eatons centre to see the Bay for one last hurrah. She also worked the election so we were pretty leisurely in our pace. The city was starting to get busy as we left as there is a game tonight.

Rain on and off in the morning. Windy so lots of things turned up on our property as it is garbage/recycling collection day. There will much raking if tomorrow is calm.
I was able to get a copy of the new waste/recycling guide with 12 tags from municipal centre before it closed.
The "how to save on groceries" program was informative. Most of it known through participating here on SC. There were four persons registered but two of us showed up. The other person told me that when Fortinos offers a Hit of the Month item without requiring customers to be PC Optimum members, the store does not give points for that item.
Shoppers has its Friends and Family 20% off regular priced items today and tomorrow (it is on upper right corner of print flyer on first page). I did text to get offer, but you can likely ask cashier to apply coupon card at cash if you do not have a mobile device. Offer is open to all, as you do not have to be a PC Opt member.
Thrift Stores Wed deal: 40% off dresses
Value Village Apr. 30-May 4: 30% off pants and skirts
I discovered that Doors Open Hamilton has listed the sites participating this weekend. I expect to visit the performing arts centre as I have only been on the grounds. The Barracks Inn, I have seen before-it is a lovely building. A few of the sites have digital tours.
