I thought up a couple of DIY gimmicks and wondered if anyone had any suggestions for improvements.

Ever get water moisture in your wristwatch? Vapour seems to leak into mine, from time to time. I used to just wait for it to evaporate, but sometimes it would persist. An idea came to me to just use my toaster oven on low setting (180 degreesF) for about an hour to bake/dry out my watch and it seems to work nicely. I don't see any long-term bad effects.

Secondly, I am about to throw another NY striploin roast into the oven. I wanted to use up some marinade. I used to take the roast out of the cryovac bag and then rub it. This time, I see that the cryovac bag is already a nice skin-tight fit and waterproof. I just made a small hole in the bag and poured the marinade into the bag and squeezed the bag all around, to make sure the marinade distributed. To keep it evenly soaked, I propped the roast and bag in a container and strategically placed towels around it to maintain pressure on various points to ensure that the entire roast would remain in contact with the marinade.

Anyone have any suggestions for improvements to either of these DIY ideas?

Feeling rich-just got paid by elections Canada. Received $445.26 for a full days work and 3 hrs of training. They even paid me one extra hr of overtime I didn't work-but I am not going to point that out!

Honestly, I am fi ding I am spending more at Costco.. I am finding more there at better prices.

I'd be very interested to know what is better priced at Costco, esp. groceries. When I compare prices there to what I typically pay, I don't see many things at all.

Arjon, The things I usually find at a better price at Costco are cheese, butter, sour cream, bananas, gas, propane, coffee, garbage bags, dishwasher soap etc to name a few. Also things like Kirkland Ibuprofen, aspirin, Vit D, shampoo.

I am with @Giseledta , I am buying more and more at Costco. Now I will admit in our case there are times where I buy at Costco because we prefer the Costco Brand, we prefer the Kirkland Old Cheddar to other brands. Also I admit at times it can be for convince, I will pay $8.99 for 30 eggs as I rarely see sales outside of SDM and I always miss the SDM sales since my local one does not sell food.

But there are also a list of things I do find Costco has the best price, things like:
Cesar Dressing
Naan
Greek Yogurt
Heavy Whipping Cream
Almond Butter
Cheese Slices

But also I shop a lot of the sales, having my pantry and our freezers allow me to buy and stock when things are on sale and have them when we need them. I track their hidden sales online and take advantage of these whenever possible.

My costco list...

Parmasean cheese. Shredded and the shaved kind

Kirkland greek yougurt
Sour cream

Rotisserie chicken. ( I freeze a couple, take out... reheat... fast simple dinner)

Spices...
Chia seeds
Bubbly. My vice. It helps me burb ,

Big box of baggettes- great to have on hand for a add to supper... chicken, salad, baguettes.

Croutons..
Worchisree sauce
Keto wraps

Big bag of snow peas

I watch vitamins, b12. Ect... shoppers sometimes have a better price

Big purple container of cleaner.... ? Only on sale..

I often have a price book with me, I check when the last sale on a item is, where.. ect. If I find it cheaper at costxo...or elsewhere.

Good Evening Everyone,
Went into the office for my afternoon meeting, it ran a little late but one person had a second meeting at 2:30 so there was a hard stop and we got it all done.

On the way home I ran a few errands, figured one last mail check before the strike happens and then off to No Frills where I grabbed a few deals before they ended, I got:
Zucchini $1.88/lb (PM Food Basics)
Peppers 4-pack $3.99
Strawberries $1.88 (PM Foods Basics)
Salami $5
Ranch Dressing $1.97 (PM Wal-Mart)

Everything was on sale except the Salami but since I bought veggies to grill Mom wanted Salami to add to her Veggie Sandwich. I have provolone in the Freezer as I buy the big pack from Costco.

Still looking through the flyers for next week. I always laugh at myself because I add stuff for stores I don't really go to and think oh that be would be a nice treat but I never go buy it. I am hoping for some good produce sales this week but we shall see, I haven't gotten to Food Basics or No Frills yet.

I went in to save my offers for next week and 2 of my offers (No Name Sour Cream & No Name Perogies) had a note cannot be hidden or saved.

I have never seen it where I cannot save a personal offer.

I can tell the difference between local honey and costco/ grocery store honey.

Costco/ grocery store honey and lemon... does not give me the same flu/ cough ect relief.

But if my chest feels tight, or I'm stuffy,.... local honey and lemon works better then beyndrl, ect.

I've heard that honey at the grocery stores has extra sugar added, etc. and is not 100% honey. Whereas honey purchased from a farm is way better and 100% pure. You can taste the difference.

@Giseledta I too am finding better deals at Costco. I just bought my Colgate sensitive toothpaste (4x120ml) for $13.49 meanwhile one tube usually costs $8-$10 at most stores.

@Arjon you have to watch the sales that they have each month. I just got Kicking horse coffee 2.2 pounds (1kg) of beans for $19.99, Colgate sensitive toothpaste (4 x120ml) for $13.49, Jet Dry 374 uses $11.99. Kirkland products are great - I stock up on toilet paper, allergy meds (generic Claritin 200 tabs $9.99), pet food, etc. Their prescriptions cost less than Shoppers, so do their glasses and contact lenses. They have a generous return policy - don't need a receipt as they can look up your previous purchases. But I do admit, you do have to be careful as it does add up quickly.
