" A mop and a walker " That could be the beginnings of a great geriatric Country song!
@coupon girl It seems the caretaker role most of us women have adopted throughout our
lives had you believing you needed to make yourself useful as you recovered.
Massive (((hugs ))) for you, take that rest now, you certainly earned one.

@coupongirl , I am glad to hear about your recovery. Not sure I would be rushing to mop my floor but that is my least desired household task.

    Happy Thursday!

Wow what a beautiful hot day it was yesterday! Great day to be off work and out and about. I sure was exhausted when finally home for the day.

Today- Feels like Friday... Figuring out a plan...Feel like we have to enjoy these summer like days while we have them. Thinking a lunch time kayak is the plan. We can park right at the marsh and go out to Georgian Bay. Nice and close for a quick easy paddle.

Dinner- No plan but have some steaks wrapped in the freezer that are easy to pull out and thaw...with ceasar salad (I made the dressing) and a nice baked potato!

    Have a wonderful day!

Popped out to Food Basics- Was the only flyer that caught my attention.
    Spent $28 +

    3 x pepperettes
    1 x raspberries
    1 x clementines (2 lbs I think)
    1 x Kiwi (1.32 Lbs)
    1 x natural tostitos

Came home and pulled from freezer a bit of cooked ground beef with onions, chopped a pepper and made a quick lunch of nachos!. ( I really wanted a food truck burger!)

I don't have any other shopping plans this week... We have everything we need to make good meals.

A rather adventurous week for me, we did not fly back to NS as planned because my father in law had a fall. He is fine but we wanted to be sure. We cancelled the flights very last minute and we only got a bit back for DHs ticket. But I was on a super basic fare and it had been cheap. We rebooked for next week and found we had a Porter gift card with almost 200 dollars on it so that was a bonus because last minute flights are not cheap.
So we will enjoy and extra week with friends and family.

    Good Morning Everyone,
It has been a week. I have been quiet as I have been processing and honestly, I still do not know how I feel.

As far as most are concerned the "situation" has been resolved. Mainly I am feeling hurt, disappointed and disrespected. I won't get into details but something was presented to me and initially I was excited until I got more information and then was left feeling how I truly hoped I would not feel. I tried to take this as my opportunity to take my shot as some would say, asking for more but I was unsuccessful.

My week working remotely to prepare for all the upcoming things did not happen. I was in a branch Monday to help with their inventory, Tuesday I had my meeting and then Wednesday and Thursday I was back in the branch helping with inventory. I would be there again today but the manager is off so I am working from home.

It has been a rough week as I haven't been feeling my best mentally and emotionally (just hoping it isn;'t showing) but also I was not prepare for a week of not being home and had no food prepped and have not had the mentally ability to pivot so I have not been taking care of me.

I do have a grocery list but honestly, I cannot think of anything we need for the weekend so I think I will shop next week.

I have not over spent but I feel like I have been using shopping as a bit of an escape. Even now I keep thinking do I need to run to Costco and I think it is just to focus on something else. The brain is still spinning and my anxiety and stress is through the roof right now, but all I can do is take it one day at a time.

I have some meetings today, a ton of things to work through and a house that needs some attention so that is the plan.

    Happy Friday Everyone.

    Friday! Yeah!
    Blue sky and sunshine.

This morning while make breakfast and tidy up kitchen I will boil some eggs and make some grab and go snack packs
(Almonds, meat stick, raspberries/Clementine/kiwi and a boiled egg)
I have been eating like sh*t and need to get back to my basics! Next week overnight oats with chia seeds/nuts/almond milk and berries. This will be my weekday breakfast. We are so stocked up on all this stuff which means minimal shopping (will re-stock the fruit before the sale ends at FB this flyer)

Still planning to make a homemade mac and cheese this afternoon for DS's return.

Million things to do this weekend........but will choose fun over chores This afternoon looks like another perfect kayaking opportunity.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

Good TGIF morning! Not sure how frugal this morning was but DH was thrilled I had grabbed one of the boneless pork loin roasts from NF yesterday.
So thrilled that he asked me to pick up one more today to serve for Thanksgiving instead of turkey. While out I picked up both things I had forgotten to get
yesterday. A pack of raspberries from FB and a 3 pack of erasers from the Dollar store.
Back home quickly to prevent the temptation of walking through the aisles.

The site is still SOOO slow

    Good Afternoon,
    Let's try this again.

I came on this morning to post and got an unexpected phone call. My Opa passed away early this morning.

His caregiver took him to the hospital yesterday and he was admitted, but all of the updates yesterday were good his condition was improving but he would probably be kept for 3 to 5 days to continue with IV antibiotics.

My step Mom called this morning to day he was gone, we think it may have been a heart attack as he went quickly. A caregiver was with him at the hospital he went from watching TV to being gone very quickly.

We were all given the opportunity if we wanted to go to the hospital and say goodbye, some of us went some did not. I originally said No, I think it was the shock but then decided to go.

When I got home I took a hot shower, had some lunch and have just been sitting on the couch. Mentally and Emotionally I am done right now.

I ended up seeing some family members today that were/are part of the situation at work and I am still hurt but today was not the day for that. It just felt really weird. September has not been a good month.

Originally my plan was to come home and put all of the emotions into cleaning but I literally cannot now. Think I will find a good movie (something that won't make be cry) and curl up on the Couch.
