Lol, i was testing a mod to show currently un-moderated posts and threads. apparently our moderation staff has neglected some stuff.

Yeah I knew it was a test of some sorts. But it was pretty funny to see! Quite often I dont link thru the reported posts so that might have something to do with it.

Well, those were auto-moderated threads and posts. Usually when someone registers and their first posts contain spammy material such as multiple links and spam keywords it gets auto-moderated. What sucks with vBulletin is there is no notification that the thread/post ever existed because it was moderated. The only way to check (without the mod I am testing) is to go to the Moderator Control Panel (link in footer 'Mod'). So I am assuming those are threads/posts that have been moderated since the beginning of the forum.

Can we expect less spam with this new update? I'm thinking of the tv show and dvd burning spam in particular. Maybe it's just me, but I've noticed more new users that post irrelevant stuff (and bumping old threads); it makes me think they are biding their time/posts until they can post their spam. I guess these sorts of users can't be auto-modded out...

Probably not, sally keeps banning the URLs but they just copy the info onto new websites and use that URL - I don't think anything will stop them, especially if people keep clicking the links and they get what they want

I know they have been very against any kind of moderation of new members (sheer numbers) or them posting links because they may have legit freebies they want to post and why make real members spam to be able to post legit stuff and potentially get turned off the forum.

Maybe it's just me, but I've noticed more new users that post irrelevant stuff (and bumping old threads); it makes me think they are biding their time/posts until they can post their spam.
