Private Messages older than 365 Days will be deleted in a few day

Private messages have been one of the reasons for the constant lag of the forum. I'm sure you notice it the most when you receive a new pm and it takes a few seconds to load the screen. PMs occupy over 7GB of space in the database... that's a lot for space for just text .

As a result we have no option but to automatically delete PMs older than a year. I highly doubt this affects anyone since really when was the last time you checked a PM that you had received over a year ago?

HOWEVER...

If this is an issue for you there are 2 things you can do.

1. Re-Forward the messages that are of value and older than 365 days to yourself. This way when they get deleted you still have the newer forwarded copy.
2. Save all your messages on your computer for easy access in the future:
- Go to http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/private.php
Scroll to the very bottom.
- Click on
"Download all Private Messages as:
XML | CSV | Text"


If this is still a major problem for you please let us know before we take any further action and we'll see how we can address your concerns appropriately.

All but 2 most recent PMs in my folders have been erased too.
I haven't even been a SC member for 365 days.

It does say, "You have 319 messages stored, of a total 4,000 allowed." However, I have no clue how to access stored messages (they're not in any folder).

ive also noticed you can't hide the bottom bar anymore. or get a pull down menu from the top bar

I can hide the bottom bar on my iPad, I actually never even noticed it until you made a comment about it lol

I don't need all that are there lol some are important to keep track of trades and stuff, I do clean it out once and awhile lol

Mine have been restored. I know what you mean though lol I almost need to make an sc address book lol
