http://www.cbc.ca/consumer/story/200...ms-recall.html
Canada's food watchdog along with Ravine Mushroom Farms Inc. issued a recall of Fresh Obsessions brand Ready To Serve Pre-washed Sliced White Mushrooms for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
The recall affects 227-gram packages sold in Ontario with the UPC code 0 69200 00902 2 and lot code R12398.
No associated illnesses have been reported, the CFIA said.
Symptoms of listeriosis include:
* Vomiting.
* Nausea.
* Stomach cramps.
* Diarrhea.
* Severe headache.
* Constipation.
* Persistent fever.
* Stiff neck.
* Loss of balance.
* Convulsions.
People who eat foods contaminated with listeria may carry the bacteria and still not develop listeriosis. Those most vulnerable to developing the disease include the elderly, infants and patients with a compromised immune system.
Pregnant women who develop listeriosis in their first trimester are at risk of miscarriage, while women in the later stages of pregnancy are at risk of delivering a stillborn or acutely ill infant.
Health officials said Tuesday they expected few new cases in a separate listeriosis outbreak, linked with processed meat products from an Ontario Maple Leaf Foods plant.
The Public Health Agency of Canada says listeriosis is believed to have been an underlying or contributing cause in 12 deaths.This thread is currently associated with: N/A
