Just got back from an overnight trip to Niagara Falls with my DH and 2 DS. We had an awesome time and spent only $159!
Here's what we did!
Butterfly Conservatory - $29 + $5 (parking)= $34 Yikes...I tried and tried, but could find no deal on this. Another time I would have parked at the park down the road and walked the 500m to the conservatory. This was lots of fun, but I think a little on the expensive side as you're only there probably 45 minutes or so. It's awesome, just a wee bit expensive.
Picnic Lunch (free) at the park down the road from the Conservatory. It had a nice Gazebo and gorgeous views of the river! I brought lunch!
Checked into hotel: (WagJag Deal $69 - $40 Wagjag credit: $10 Telus, $20 referrals, $10 I traded for here on SC) = $29 + $25 taxes and parking = $54
Walk by the falls ($9 parking) I haven't been to the falls in years and forgot how lovely it is! We took an hour and a half walk by the falls! So nice!
Bird Kingdom($9 for DS1, DS2 was free, 2 for 1 coupon from Wagjag deal: DH & I $19) YOU MUST GO HERE IF YOU GO TO THE FALLS!!! It was awesome! We petted a 4 foot iguana, and fed the birds nectar! The feeding was the best. There were birds landing all over my kids and skwaking. So much fun. The aviary is stunning and it is worth going!! If you purchase your tickets online you can get a discount!
Picnic in our hotel room: (free) I took some camping dishes and a cooler and packed one of those roast chickens from Fortinos and fresh bread, raw veggies and some fruit and cookies and we had a picnic in the hotel!
Swimming: (free) Although the hotel seemed a little sketchy when we showed up it was pretty good. The outside is looking a bit run down and the rooms need to be updated but the room was cleam and the pool was brand new and awesome. It had a regular pool, wading pool and hot tub. The best part was that we could sit in the hot tub and watch the kids in the wading pool. We spent quite a while splashing around!!
Breakfast: (free) I packed croissants and strawberries and milk etc.
Americana Waves Indoor Waterpark: ($29 for 4 admissions through dealfind. This water park was awesome! My kids are 3 and 5 and they could go on everything. Just two of the waterslides were too big for my youngest, but the rest was perfect. We stayed most of the day! They had a jungle gym with two small water slides and sprinklers etc., a wading pool with smaller sliders for toddlers and jolly jumpers in the water for babies. A wave pool/swimming pool with a basketball court! Two large water slides and two tube slides. They also have a hot tub. So much fun!
Arcade: ($5) I splurged and bought five dollars worth of tokens but the machine gave me $10 worth. Woohoo. The kids rode some of the cars and played some fo the games and got some cheap plastic toys iwth the tickets.
All in all an awesome trip for not too much money! Plus, I emailed Wagjag as the deal said it came with shuttle passes but the hotel didn't have a shuttle so they gave me a $10 credit. Nice! The only problem on the trip was the people next to us at the hotel were doing the deed at 4 in the morning! Too funny!
Thanks for reading!!

I love the idea of a picnic in your room! We're going to Niagara Falls in May - I haven't been to the Bird Kingdom. I'd like to see it. May I suggest going to the Horticultural Gardens next time? They are Free and change their displays every month on one side and have a static tropical display on the other side. (Maybe not too exciting for kids - but they have butterflies and birds flying around the tropical side and lots of "weird" plants.)
Now you're getting me excited about going!

Cool brag and great to spend time with family without breaking the bank. The fam and I are heading to Niagara/Safari Niagara in June. Will definitely check out WagJag and/or Dealfind for discounts on the hotel stay and admission. Waterpark sounds awesome too..will check it out!

Sounds like you had an awesome time! I haven't been to the Bird Kingdom, but yes, the Butterfly Conservatory is beautiful, I went there on some kind of Niagara Parks Appreciation Day, and admission was only $5!
