Free Comic Book Day - Saturday May 5

We have been doing this every year. We go as a family of 4 and they let us get 4 free comics each so the kids end up with 8 comics. If you have kids, you know that they like their own copies. They have Archie, The Simpsons, Disney, and of course, superheroes.

Also- is this something that you have to be there super early for? Or do they have a fair amount of comics to give away so that it's not a big deal if you're not there first thing in the morning?

In the past, my kids were into Archie and The Simpsons. We had to go to several stores to get these because it was so popular and they were gone if you go in the afternoon. So get there early.
I believe they also have anime and manga.

Let me rephrase.

It's the unpopular ones that they have a limited supply, like Archie and The Simpsons, so if you want these, go early.

If you go to a land far far away like us in french country, they even have comics from previous years.

Went to my local comic store and was allowed to take 3. Boooo...they had no Archie tho!

We try and do this every year, today we dressed DD up in a Wonder Woman onesie and took her with us

Our local place let us take 4 per person (8 if you have a library card), so we left with a bunch of this year's superhero titles plus the kid-oriented titles to keep for DD when she gets older.

ya i am a regular customer at my store and ended up with 7-8 i think...go to use as a teacher...and then of course a couple were just for me...

I remember free comic book day from when I was in college!! Glad to see this tradition is still going strong =)

Today I saw Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Wonder Woman, Pheonix, Naruto, Kick-Butt (because I don't know if I can say the actual name), and a few other characters I didn't recognize. London really goes all out for free comic book day! There were 3 or 4 comic book stores in London participating this year, and a couple of them had really long line ups (like at least 2 dozen people).

Didn't go myself, but people were definitely participating!

DS went by himself and got 4 comics. He went to a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament first, got to comic shop late and got slim pickings.
