What is the average you should spend on your buddy?
ETA: I only ask because I'm not sure my student loan would get here in time to participate and I'd like to be able to spend about $100 plus shipping... judging from the Mother's Day Package Train this seems to be about what each person sent to their buddy.....Last edited by Bronwen; Wed, May 9th, 2012 at 11:52 AM.

It really depends on what you want to spend, most important thing is to send a package you would like to receive. Some of the things that you see in people's packages we have been able to get either for free or for very little $$ by using coupons. I would have to say $100 is high but I'm sure your buddy would be happy

Slambert makes a good point though, with coupons it would be easier to get the prices down, those Mother's Day ones look awesome though! Lots of thought and care put into each one.... so let me ask, how do we know what the other person would like? Do we write up a little bio of ourselves (or in this case of whoever the "Dad" is), so that we can get an idea of what the recipient would really love?

also many of us know in advance that we are going to be on certain package exchanges or just get lucky and find deals and stock them away for when one comes up.. that helps keep the cost down.

Simple as that!

when you sign up for the train you submit a wishlist of at least 30 items that you would like to recieve in the train..your buddy picks from that list a minimum of 6 items..I always like to put surprise stuff in too...I think almost everyone does that though dont they?

I'd totally be in for a Fathers Day train!! The Mothers Day one has been super fun!
On a side note - Misstarbender - if you want to send some of those mailbox vibes my way that would be some kind of fantastic....come on Mr. Mailman haha

Everyone works with their own personal budget. I sale shop and clearance shop with coupons to get more into the package. I always add a suprise or two based on the persons wishlist.
I did spend a little more on the mother day's package train because I wanted to spoil a mom! But, in order to do that.. I sat out on the easter package train(so I would have double my budget).
I think a fathers day package train is a fantastic idea. Think of how surprised our "non-couponing" partners would be to have a box arrive filled with stuff for them.
I 100% want this to happen!!!!!!
