Use your FPCs at Zellers for the best Deal

Just a heads up before you use your FPCs - if you use your FPC's at Zellers you earn the same amount of HBC reward points as if you paid cash for the item.

I don't think you earn Optimum points at Shoppers on the purchase of a free item.

Does anyone else have a particular store they go to when cashing in a FPC?

This just makes getting a freebie a little better.

I always thought I was getting Optimum points when purchasing a free item. I usually wait until they have a 20x points to go get it. I will have to check this closer next time. If not, then you are right it makes sense to get them at Zellers.

I'm not 100% sure on the Optimum thing - so if anyone knows for sure it would be good to know.

Today I redeemed $60 worth of FPCs at Shoppers and I got ZERO Optimum Points.

I thought you got the points as well... turns out it's not true.

Next time I'll go to Zellers!

You get the points at SDM when you use $off coupons.

Club Sobey's points are awarded on FPC's....I got points for a free case of Coke this week...and they didn't charge me tax!!!

Zellers charges taxes on free products (unless it says otherwise on the coupon - and you tell the cashier). SDM doesnt charge taxes.

I prefer not to pay taxes than to pay the taxes and get points....

Yes, you definitely get your bonus pts when you use free coupons, I get them.
We didn't get the on our receipt today because they will be added at a later date. I noticed it on my receipt and asked.

My shoppers gives me the points for free product it's all when you give over the coupons. Wait till she totals then hand them in then you will note the tax also comes off it's just the way the system is set up. Also make sure she swipes your optimum card before she starts rather than at the end. Another point and an example from last week as I bought $80.91 before tax then gave over my coupons and it came to $58.61 and the girl would not give me my $20 gas card as she said it was yada yada any way pissed me off so I brought the stuff back monday as I can be anul at times. Well they took it back no problen full refund but I got to keep the coupon earnings. I felt better. : )

I was at SDM this morning they would not gimme the points. But just out of curiosity, how does it matter whether they swipe the card before or after?? i always give them the card after.

Maybe i should bring some stuff back, since some i only got assuming i get points on total before coupn

When you give the card first it gives you the points on the total before coupon if you give it after your total is down if you are like most here it's way down. : )

You won't get the 15X times bonus pts on your receipt today, though, just in case you don't know, she said it would be applied at a later date, which I don't remember
