An absolutely <3 breaking story
Most people were dressed in costume,, some people w/young families
What an absolute tragedy
The theatre goers initially thought it was part of the movie or perhaps the noise from an adjacent theater

NO idea what's in the water in Colorado, but they seem to have the worst luck when it comes to mass shootings!
Heartfelt condolences to all!
(I wonder WHY they took him ALIVE?!?)
I also wonder if there was more than 1 shooter...

"When he was arrested after the shootings, he made no attempt at resistance. His mission was accomplished."
For better or for worse, the police will never shoot you if you surrender yourself. I don't think lethal injection is enough for this guy. We should use medieval punishments to deter crimes like this. Canada of course doesn't have a death penalty, but we will need one if anything like this ever happens here. Canada does have better gun laws, but it could happen anywhere.
"Should this young man — whose nature was apparently so obvious to his mother that, when a ABC News reporter called, she said “You have the right person” — have been able to buy guns, ammunition and explosives? The gun lobby will say yes. And the endless gun control debate will begin again, and the lobbyists of the National Rifle Association will go to work, and the op-ed thinkers will have their usual thoughts, and the right wing will issue alarms, and nothing will change. And there will be another mass murder."
