having the day off, I decided to try and use some coupons that expire July 31...Gosh there seems to be a mountain of them expiring then!! First off to my local Freson IGA to use up my saver cards:
Foothills old fashioned butter 1 lb....4 saver cards = Free
1% 2 L milk....3 saver cards = Free
1 doz large eggs.....3 saver cards = Free
1 1L Mountain Park water ...1 saver card = Free
2 boxes Keebler Waffle Bowls 2for $2.00
Total for all with tax $2.48
Off to Walmart:
Bush's beans 4/$5 (PM to RCSS) - 4 x .50 = $3.00/4 cans or .75 ea
Ensure meal replacement (package of 6 x 235 ml) regular price $8.99 + gst + .60 enviro fee = $10.03 each (PM to IGA 2 packages for $10) Ensure cheques/coupons $3 off each package = $2.70 ea X 12 (w tax & enviro levy)
Regular retail with taxes & enviro x12 = $120.36
OOP with sale and coupons = $32.40

Ahhh, weasy71, you're just bragging because you had the day off and we had to work.

Luckeee - those saver cards--free milk, free butter, free eggs, free water
! And no coupon used!

LOL Shwa Girl....well I have to say couponing on a MOnday was very nice....not too busy at all although I gave my cashier an education...the CSM was called over twice... but I am growing a thicker skin....comments from people behind me bother me less and less....I guess there is power in knowing how much you are saving....

I think what has happened to IGA is that is has split...there is the garden market IGAs, the sobeys and the independant Freson...Saver cards are cards filled with stamps that you get for shopping there...a full savers card is 10 stamps 1 stamp= $5 shopping...I save them up til I have lots and then redeem them...its a pretty good deal but I dont think Freisen is nationwide
