I've heard that immediately taking a shower after exercising is not healthy but I dont' remember exactly why...but I think maybe it had something to do with the heart still beating fast and hitting the shower might cause dizziness???
So what is the recommended wait? How long do you wait until taking a shower? This thread is currently associated with: N/A

I wait a half hour and then hit the shower. I like to cool off a little bit, and calm myself.

depends on what i'm doing afterwards, but i generally don't wait too long to take one..usually 20 minutes to a half hour, sometimes not even that long.

Don't worry about it, if you are not over heating and spiking your bp you should be fine.

I don't shower at the gym. Personal preference. I wait until I get home.
Tho by the time you're done exercising and have completed all your stretches and cool down routine AND gather all your stuff and change to head to the shower at the gym, you will probably be fine

Well I will recommend you to take a break of 15-30 minutes and I believe this time is very important to get your heart rate back to normal.

It is OK to shower after exercise. The most important thing is COOL DOWN 10-15 minutes after exercising, let your heart rate back to normal and the temperature of the water shouldn't be very hot or very cold because Very hot water will dilate the blood vessel and makes you feel dizzy.

I don't wait, but then again I'm mostly exercising at home if I'm sweating.

I normally take a rest for 10 minutes to relax myself and run to bathroom because sweating really allergic for me.

I usually wait a half hour so my body can cool down a bit. I hate having a hot shower when I'm already burning up from my workout. 30 minutes or so seems to do the trick for me!
