I received for a birthday gift (back in March) a KitchenAid Stand Mixer - which is great!

I've been trying to price out the attachments (pasta roller, grinder, etc etc) But they seem to be super expensive everywhere!! I've just looked some up on Amazon.ca, but still seem pretty pricey.

First of all, has anyone had any experience using any/all of the attachments?

And Secondly, are there ever any coupons/rebates/sales for these?? I don't think I've ever seen them in a flyer. I considered BB&B with their 20% off any item, but i'm pretty sure those always exclude brands like KitchenAid.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I don't have one - lucky you! - but I do know they go on good sales once in a while - last big sale was Future Shop Nov. last year - and there was a KA rebate for them running at the same time, so some SCers made out great!

    Here's the old thread -

Just curious what model you got, and what you've been making with it!

    Hi Natalka!!

I remember there being rebates, but I totally missed out on those!!

I just have the regular one (with the smaller motor) in white, with the stainless steel bowl. (I can update model number later when I get home )
I absolutely LOVE it!! I have not even looked at my hand mixer since I got it!

I've made cookies (several kinds), muffins, pizza dough, whip cream, banana bread, sauces, and I'm sure other things I have forgotten!
Haven't ventured as far as regular bread, but would like to, eventually. I would also love to make my own pasta, and (maybe) grind my own meat! But I guess that all depends if I can get these attachments for cheap! lol

My mixer came with the beater, and also with the beater/spatula attachment. I havent tried the beater with the spatula part, I think I was worried it was going to bend funny or something (because the pieces sit so close to the sides/bottom of the bowl)

Mine came with it too, but my mixer is old and the vinyl had started to peel away and I needed a new one. This one scrapes the bowl, works much better at mixing than the plain one did.

OOOH I LOVE my Kitchen Aid, I received the Professional 5 Plus model (I am not really sure what that means, but I do think it rocks!) as a gift. I honestly use that thing pretty much every single day. I do a lot of baking and we make our own bread so it is a huge time saver for us. I have quit a few attachments for it, but am still learning how to use those, they do come in handy during canning season though when I need mass quantities of things shredded etc. We are also looking forward to homemade sausage and pasta this winter...to excited!

Oh I forgot to say they do go on sale everyonce and a while at Canadian Tire, so if you are loaded up and looking to spend some CT money it could be a good time!

I got the pasta/meat grinder set at Canadian Tire for 70% off. I also have the attachments to deseed tomatoes for tomato sauce (aka: veggie strainer); got that through ebay . The only parts I don't like are the plastic excrusion attachments; the one that makes spaghetti and other pasta by pushing it through a plastic attachment, from the pasta/meat grinder set. Sometime I would like to get the real metal pasta attachments which I'm sure are great.

The Shopping Channel usually has a KitchenAid special sometime in August, and they usually have great prices on a lot of things (along with bonus offers). Maybe check their programming guide to see when KitchenAid will be on.

Thanks! I also have a CT m/c that collects CT money, not a lot mind you, but better than nothing!

Hmmm, I think the shopping network got booted off the channel it used to be on. I'll have to do some searching. Never ordered anything through them though!

On a very different note, I didn't really know you could 'redeem' Petro-Points for a whole whack of things! I don't have this many points, but you can get the pasta attachments for 239,000 points!!

I have the metal pasta attachments and I hate it with a passion. I would love to get the pastic ones. The stupid things are impossible to clean and started to rust after 1 use. I hate it so much I haven't used it in 5 or so years! Been saving my airmiles to buy the newer plastic ones. Didn't have that when I bought all my attachments.

I have a tonne of the attachments but really only use the juicer now (although I would love the ice cream maker!) I love my kitchenaid food processor now. It does everything my attachments did-but better and way freakin' easier to clean!

I bought my food processor last August on there! It was a crazy awesome deal and I LOVE it! I love it more than my mixer. I use it just about every single day. I use it so often I've been thinking about how I need a 2nd bowl for it!
