I was at Shoppers drug mart today and on my way out at the cashier they had these bands hanging on a plastic hook hangar. they are called Allerbling. Seriously cool. If your child suffers from allergies/life threatening allergies they have charms that fit into little holes on the band (think the old crock charms) and they have 8 to choose from plus a medic charm. They were quite cheap too $18.99. two sizes to choose from, washable, easy to care for. So cool. I just sent them a request to add some medications (ie asthma etc) charms to their line as well. I'd check their site out. I really hope they follow my suggestion. I don't know how much money i've invested over the years for a similar type band that has broken, rusted been lost, can't be washed. I'd really like to get one last one for my son that he can keep forever. he's into those new trendy type things a rubber bracelet would so fit into his lifestyle. Anyway im NOT a paid promoter.. honestly i just saw these and was like WOW now WHY didn't i think of that. really i wish i had. whoever did is going to do quite well. Im just glad i found them and can pass on the word. So next time your taking part in a 20X day look for them.

Thank you. I checked the site. It would be $20 USD for one for my DS. Severe peanut allergy. I've been trying to find him something other than a medic alert bracelet.

Neat idea, but thinking as a mother of little guys, I wonder if this could also be a choking hazard for small children... I imagine the discs must detach easily if they're customizable?

They have a warning that it's for those over three.

Allerbling^TM was designed for ages 3 and up. The medic and allergy charms included in the kit are a choking hazard. But please check back, as we are in the advanced stages of development of an important product for children under 3 years of age.

I have seen bracelets similar on mommabargains.com that are all one piece and you order which ever one you need. They had fun names like Milky and the bracelet had a carton of milk on it and said milk allergy on the sides. No little pieces to be taken off. They were cheaper but that web site changes hourly so you might have to call to see if they still have them or when they might go back on again.
