Lola's RAOK Challenge and Exchange Train

so very kind of you, have fun at the wedding!

My daughters in a wedding party today for her good friend. They needed someone to do the ironing of 20 table clothes for the dinner reception. As they can not afford hired staff or wedding planners. I offered to iron them all.
Plus I ironed a shirt & pants for another guy helping set the dishes out.
The best part is at the last I got to set up the candy table. So sweet!
Off to the wedding. Hopefully pictures to follow of the tables all dressed up.

I haven't been on much lately and just getting caught up on everyone's RAOK. It has been extra crazy here with getting a new wheelchair and issues with the school losing our request for para transit busing. So I am now taking our little one to school and picking up. Plus I learned that someone I know had an extreme preemie. Which is something I know a lot about because my little one was born extremely early so I was caught up in if they needed help or someone to talk to about everything that they were going through. Having an extreme means long stays in the NICU and lots of medical issues that need to be looked into, which makes life very scary. When we were in the NICU we had sooooooo many questions and there wasn't a lot of people to talk to so I had to offer.

Guess that has been my RAOK for the past few days but I just know I really would have loved to have someone who had gone through it to talk to about it.

oh my gosh those poor people! My son was in the NICU for a day or so when he was born. It was completely precautionary as he was actually past term and over 8 lbs but it broke my heart walking by all those tiny babies hooked up to all that equipment. I got choked up that my own, very clearly healthy child, was in there. There were twin 26 weekers next to us and i almost felt guilty sitting with them holding my little guy next to their REALLY little girls. Such nice people and such a hard thing to go through.

Little RAOK for my son son who wanted to change the water in his aquarium today, we started off taking the water out, then I suggested taking all the gravel & decorations out, washing everything & then moving his mollies into the larger tank & moving his single angel fish into the smaller tank, at the end when we were all done he said " I really appreciate all your help with this, I know it was alot of work but my mollies seem happier now", he's only 9 and he breeds mollies for a hobby.

With how much wedding cost these days, anything anyone can do to help is AMAZING. Also a fantastic ROAK.

my biggest RAOK today is helping my son clean his room. this is a MAJOR undertaking that started yesterday and will probably continue all weekend. believe me its taking alot of kindness to be nice to him. im hoping to be done this weekend as monday is garbage day and BOB he'sa gonna have a ton of garbage.. plus i'd like for us all to go the fair together. and NOT have to worry about this room. wish me luck.

I'm thinking you have a teenage son, in which case Ku - feaking - dos. Standing ovation. Most teenage boy rooms that i've seen are terrifying and I tend to avoid them at all costs. I think my nephew has things breeding in his. THAT is a ROAK and a half!

yes i discovered some interesting things.. and so did he.. 'geez i forgot about' 'holy cow where did u find that i haven't seen that in a long time' 'wow i thought i had lost that forever' 'cool i thought i threw that out' 'awesome i've been looking for that for ages'. just some of the the expressions i've heard. i wont' mention the ones that were involved while i was throwing things out.

All this talk about slang reminds me of the time I said "drop trou" in a sentence to DH. He looked at me like I was an alien. So then we argued whether it was an expression or not. So I made the mistake of saying "ask anyone". He took it a little too literal and ask his very proper british MIL. lmao.

Anyway, after speaking to friends (our age) he finally realized I didn't make it up. hahahahaha.

My little one was 26 weeks. We saw families come in and go the months we were in the NICU but we were happy for the families who got to take their little ones home just hard knowing we had to wait

Oh my, I can only imagine how hard that must have been.

My SIL had my 2 nephews at 32 weeks and that was hard for her.

Thankfully the NICU is amazing and all the technology has really helped the little ones.

With Ricki's clearance sale, I bought tons of work clothes at really good prices to donate to "Dress for Success" (an organization that helps women from any set back they are facing to get back on their feet and return to the working world but they might not have the money to buy an "office appropriate" wardrobe).

2. My daughter smiled at an old man because he "looked sad".

With Ricki's clearance sale, I bought tons of work clothes at really good prices to donate to "Dress for Success" (an organization that helps women from any set back they are facing to get back on their feet and return to the working world but they might not have the money to buy an "office appropriate" wardrobe).

2 small RAOKs yesterday here at home

1) my oldest son lost a beta fish during the move from Grandma's house to home, I emptied the tank, removed all the ornaments + rocks and did a super duper clean up for the next fish if he chooses to get another

2) DH over the years has been wanting to have chicken hearts & gizzards (I know gross) but anyways I finally made it for him yesterday after 17 years of marriage (lol) and he said it reminded him of how his grandmother use to cook it, he loved it

With my thumb still not bending it’s hard to do my fall cleaning and gather up stuff. I did manage to do baby girl’s closet! 2 bags with 1 full winter gear boots, hat and all…

I also did a quick round in the stockpile to get pantry staples. Also added 2 cases of Nestea. We did drop everything off over the weekend, the lady was so happy she was crying, I told her I would be back as I progress with my cleanup.

Baby girl gave 2 toys to the little girl, I was so proud of her!
